Default So it finally happened

Here is some background. I drive my C7z in all weather conditions. I have snow tires and specifically take my car out during snow to have some fun. This car handles great in the snow (with snow tires). Only limiting factor so far has been clearance.

Now, onto my little situation. It was snowing all night yesterday into this morning and the roads are completely covered in snow. I decide to take the C7z to work. Keep in mind, i've driven this route a few times during heavy snow and have never had issues. On the usual route i take there is this hill (probably 30% gradient), it is completely covered in snow. I didn't think much of it at this time and decide drive up the hill. I made it almost all the way up, but due to a car coming down the hill, i had to stop. After stopping, i am no longer able to go up this hill and i'm stuck. Looking back, the proper way to handle this would have been to roll back down the hill and try another route. But nope, in my infinite wisdom - i saw a parking spot on the side of this hill and decide to park there (since i was close to where i usually park). This parking spot is angled downwards compared to the road and i realize i'm stuck. There is no longer an option to roll down since there is a car parked below me.

I am currently at work and will be heading home at around 5pm. I guess the car does not even have a tow hook and i don't think i can risk it with a tow truck. Does anyone have a good suggestion to get the car un-stuck? I've been considering buying salt/de-icer.

Call an Uber and come back when the temperature is above freezing. I wouldn't risk even trying to move your car if it's stuck right now.

I saw pictures where folks have used zip ties around their tires to get traction in the snow and ice, you may try that and let us know if it worked out for you.

UPDATE: Thanks for the suggestions everyone. I am happy to report that there was less snow on the ground when i came out. So i was able to power out of the parking spot with stability control off. I looks like turning stability control off really makes a difference with the way the power is put to the ground.

Congrats on successfully figuring out how to get out of that 'slick' situation! Something for all of us to keep in mind, as your situation with the parking lot could happen regardless of what car/truck you're driving

Glad to see you got it out. I'm one that sees no fun driving the car even in the rain. Let alone snow. Just not worth getting stuck or having some idiot hitting you.

Good for you I drive mine is all types of weather too. You could get stuck in any type of car you need to be prepared as you are with snow tires.

Enjoy the car, don't worry about the waxers. Someone will ****** up their rides when they trade it and they wont get a dime more!

I'm glad that i'm not the only one who thinks this way. I realized that the dealer will give you the same trade in either way. I have xpel/cquartz and do regular car washes. When summer rolls around, the car will look exactly the same as a garaged car.

The few times i've used weather mode, i've found it very restrictive. The electronics kick in alot sooner. I think all it does is set a lower threshold for stablity/traction and makes the throttle less sensitive.
