Loyalty $3k Rebate
#2
I was just about to ask this question. I still see it on some dealers sites, but it is also gone from some others that I have been following. Maybe a big dealer will chime in. What about the Hurricane rebate?

Unfortunately the rebate is no longer available for this month. The rebates got worse from last month. No more employee pricing for all on 17s and no Chevy loyalty. There is a $2017 bonus cash on all 2017s until 1/15. Dealers can still choose to allocate flex cash money on 17s and 18s. Otherwise, nothing else on 17s or 18s.

Guarantee you'll find a dealer that gives you the discount by working out numbers some how some way. Lots of mark up

If you dig enough, I'm sure you can find one. The difference is that GM's incentives take GM's money, but the dealer's discounts cut come out of the dealer's pocket. Unless they're really desperate to unload the car, I'll bet they'll just wait to see what GM does next or hold out until spring.

Advanced
December 2017 sales disappointing, sold 2278 cars vs Dec 2016 2709 sold, a 15.9% drop and vs Nov 2017 sales of 2565, an 11% decline. .
So GM gives worse rebates/incentives in January 2018.
Makes perfect sense...

Thanks for the update. I had been checking a silver GS weekly on VanBortels web site. Due to the lousy weather lately and the holidays I didn't set up a deal, I figured I'd wait. I guess I waited a little too long. I'm sure they have a lot of snow up there also.

Which really means absolutely squat as in the end the final price of the car is what matters which will work out to the exact same price in the end as anyone who got the deal if you're a good negotiator. The math in the end can work out the same regardless of the name of the promo. I am the most annoying person a car salesmen can talk to and it's pretty easy to get deals if you are patient

I looked for months last year and got the best deal in February. With the cold weather continuing and tons of 2017-2018's out there, you will find deals.

That's right. When I worked with a major forum dealer on an order a month ago, I was offered a fair discount off MSRP, plus whatever offers may be in place on date of delivery, which will be sometime in February. Thus, I don't know at this point what the final deal will be.
Things like the "loyalty discount" can make the deal much sweeter than you can negotiate without.

I had a dealer tell me they would not go below 20% on a leftover 2016 last year (Jan). Two weeks later (end of Jan) they offered 25% off.
I think they realized it was Jan and New England and not many more buyers would be knocking on the door.
I recommend sites like Car Gurus which tell you how long a car has been on the lot. Cars that have been sitting for 100, 200, or even 300+ days will likely have a different motivation by the dealer vs a car that has been there for less than a few weeks.

Really... would love to see the final sale price of a Vette purchased on this amazing 3k off rebate that I couldn't get a dealer to match.

I would gladly pay a couple thousand more to get a factory fresh car as opposed to a car that has sat on a lot for 300 days or more! The paint will most likely be in rough shape and need a lot of attention with a bufffer, plus I don't like the idea that the engine was probably started and shut down cold a few dozen times. I have had great luck with cars that I have factory ordered and terrible luck with the one new car I bought that was on the dealers lot for over a year (the starter on that car died a week after I got it!)
