Is the big and small rear wing on the future C7 ZR1 too big for you to buy a ZR1?

Do not track so have a question. I know the wing & splitter provides downforce, but also slows you down to a small degree. So how does this benefit driving on a road course where speed is limited to maybe 175 mph? I could see it on a oval track where you could let it rip like the big boys on TV. But with this much HP (ZR1) do you really need the downforce on road courses? Hope this doesn't get folks mad, just curious.

We can yak it up until the cows come home, but for most, it's not the size of the wing, it's the size of the wallet. Love it or hate it, most vette fans will not overlook an epic car with the capabilities of the ZR1 because the wing is too tall.

Jokes aside, a spoiler is easy to change so it's not like it has to be a deal breaker.
I'm not so much bothered by the looks of it as I am bothered by the thought of the loss of rearward visibility. The C7 already has somewhat inhibited visibility as compared to a C6. Both of the C7 ZR1 spoilers seen on prototypes would only hinder visibility further.
I daily drive my C6 ZR1, so visibility and safety navigating traffic is a greater concern than downforce.

Notice that the C5 does NOT have a rear wing or a huge C7 Z06/Z07 type rear spoiler(just a small spoiler like what was used on the 1967 Z28), and no front splitter, etc. The C5 has none of the "race car" downforce thingies added, yet gets around the track very well, wouldn't you say?
Also notice that he has no problem staying in front of the C7 Z06, and once clear of traffic, goes off and leaves the C7 Z06.
To me, that says a lot about the value of big wings, etc.

I'm gonna go out on a limb and guess you're in your 70's and a fan of chrome.

I hate big wings with a passion. Not into the fast and furious bs. I then started following the new ZR1. I got hooked and have been first in line for one at my dealership for over a year. The wait has killed me so much I bought the clown shoe fast and furious '17 GTC/ACR/GTS-R Viper last week with the large *** surf board to cool my jets. I have to say, it's f'n awesome, love the wing! Love the car so much I can't wait for the big winged ZR1 to come out. Have several Vettes, and the wing is all good for me, I only wish they'd go back to the correct tail lights! Cheers!

If you're buying or considering buying this car based on the damn wing size, you're buying this car for ALL the wrong reasons.......

If I was in the market for the new ZR1....all those wings except the convertible wing would be deal breakers for me!!!

For a serious Track Rat I would consider it essential. Otherwise, it just looks silly.

I am not feeling it! So I bought another Z06, GM has done well on the 2017 Z06. They are plenty fast for me.
The issue is not only the wing but also the front bill. Then the huge bump in the hood kills the lines on the car. The extra fast is not over coming the extra ugly.

There is nothing "ricer" about big aero. If it's functional and it adds to the performance of the vehicle, then it's appropriate. If you don't like it, don't buy it...no problem. This is why Tadge has preached bandwidth. The effort here is to build a Corvette for everyone. I personally think this ZR1 is going to be the baddest car GM has ever built. I actually think the wing could be bigger, ala ACR-E
