Default Impatiently waiting to be a C7 owner

A few weeks ago, I finally decided to pull the trigger on putting in my order for a new 2018 Grand Sport. Obviously, there are a few of us in this boat impatiently awaiting the plant to re-open and orders to be officially be accepted.

So for the next 4 - 6 months I will continue to pull up images of my build, like a new dad awaiting the day his baby is born!

Allocations are opening tomorrow - hopefully your dealer will assign your order to an allocation. Plant starts production November 1.

Congratulations! I'm also in the same boat as you! What makes you think it'll be 4-6 months though? Unless your dealer has a very low allocation, your order could get built much sooner than you think. I placed my order on Sept 5 and got the call from my salesman today that his dealer has enough allocation that my car will be built in the first couple of weeks after the plant opens, so even if there is a 4 week hold after it's built (for extra QC), the chances are extremely good that I'll have my car in December.

Patman, that is positive news to hear, and congrats to you as well! As far as my 4-6 month range, it was really pulled out of thin air, I went in to it thinking Jan/Feb delivery, but would welcome an earlier delivery. It's better for me to think 4-6 months and be pleasantly surprised versus thinking 3-4 months and being disappointed.

Congrats! I am in same boat. Ordered on 7/3. Blade silver/black M7, black wheels. etc. I can't tell from my laptop screen, is yours Blade silver? Looks great whatever color it is. Best of luck. Let me know when your dealer gets his allocation for your car.

Thanks, its actually Arctic White, I was debating between the AW, and the new Matrix Gray, and ultimately went with the AW after looking at the Matrix in person.

Here are the build details:

2LT Grand Sport
Exterior :Arctic White, black wheels, red calipers, black badging, Jake Stinger
Interior: Black with suede inserts, carbon fiber dash

Same boat, I ordered 8/9. The wait is definitely hard but the payout is great!

2LT Grand Sport in Torch Red with all the carbon flash contrasting you can spec. As much as I'd love to have the car early December it would just go right into the garage so I'm hoping they won't ship the Grand Sports over here to Canada during the winter and I'll grab it start of Spring.

I'm in the same boat. Wonder which will be faster - shipping to Canada or shipping to California.

Hopefully California! Actually ordered through Vans Chevrolet out of Scottsdale and taking delivery in AZ vs courtesy delivery to my local SoCal dealer.

What, you ordered black wheels and red calibers? How could you?

Just kidding! You have great taste. I have similar GS combo. Your day will come. You are absolutely going to love that car.

Just curious but have you searched the major forum dealers for a 2017/2018 similar built car? You could have the car sooner and likely for less money.

Thanks, I did my due diligence, I was working on a deal for an instock vehicle from Vans before I decided to do an order. Being in sales myself, I gave my salesassociate the opportunity to earn my business over the forum dealers, which he did. Additionally, no additional cost for courtesy delivery and I get a nice little 300 mile road trip out of it with the wife.

Congrats on getting the order placed, speaking from my experience, the longer the wait the more excitement you will have when it finally arrives. It is fortunate that you live in California where a December/January delivery is not an issue.

Only draw back on not doing the coutesy delivery is (pretty sure) that you will need to deal with getting it smogged.
