Not debating that. I simply provided a compete accounting of the 2017 colors and my opinion that Watkins Gray was "pushed" by the Collector Edition. IOW without the "Collector Edition" Watkins Gray would have sold less. Further, the "Collector Edition" is, IMO, a bit of a farce because they produced so many of them. Many color combinations were made in far few numbers. OTOH I must say that Torsion Blue is VERY attractive.

I believe Black Rose could have been considered a Red, which places the 3 reds decidedly on top. Which is also the only reason i can imagine that it was cut; since Sterling Blue has been shown to have finished dead last, eg, the plant didn't want to produce 3 red colors on the new paint line. But if three of the same hue are not favored by GM, i am disappointed that Sterling lives on while Laguna remains a lady in waiting.

I know someone that bought a new Ron Fellows Z06 back then and he traded his silver Z06 for it, even though that car was only a few weeks old and had only a few hundred miles on it!

If you add the two reds, red is the most popular color every year in the C7 run, followed by white, black and the various grays.

A lot of different reds have been used over the years. The switch from Torch to Victory and back to Torch during the C6 run stirred people up. There were a lot of fights about that. But if you look at the paint codes below, a particular name is sometimes associated with different paint codes over the years.

Yea, I always hated how my 05 looked in white.

Okay if you say so. I attempted to update my original post and did not intentionally delete it. Although I do see some weird behavior from time to time on this forum when accessing via an iPad. But hey, glad you straightened me out.

I think it's a real loss when GM lets colors like Lime Rock Green, and Laguna Blue slide.
Arctic White - just a classic. Torch Red - fantastic.
I'd like to ask GM to add some pizzazz to the Blade Silver. Not too much, but just some umph to it to get it brighter, make it pop!
I commend GM for Cyber Gray and Shark Gray they brought out - but discontinued.
Although a tad dark - ll am rather sold on the Watkins Glen Gray.👍

Agreed. At least the current Blade Silver is brighter than the Machine Silver it replaced. My C6 was Machine Silver and the color had a "dirty" look to it, especially when parked next to a brighter silver.

White Black and Red. According to these posts it looks like the top selling colors. Happy to hear that because I am looking for and prefer a Black c7. But saw a laguna Blue with the Kalahari Tan interior. I like it but I thought it would be smart to take resale down the road into consideration. Looks like maybe the black would be easier to sell in a few years.
Thanks everyone!

Well, that's one way to look at it. On the other hand, that torch red with black interior will be commonplace on the used market.
The resale value will be bad no matter what anyone buys new, so get what you want and enjoy it. I doubt resale-wise we're talking about more than a couple thousand this way or that with any color combination out there.

With only 1,000 "Collector cars" produced that is what? 1/4 of 1 percent of the total? I don't think that would skew the numbers that much. But I do like the color and got it on my GS, it really shows off the car in a stealthy sort of way.

11,958 2017 GSs were built, representing 36.4% of the C7s built that MY. 8% of all GSs built were special editions in WGG, and 3% of all C7s built were GS special editions, so that would definitely push up the WGG numbers significantly.

Regardless of which gray color, the C7 gray painted cars have pretty much come in the top 4 every year behind red, white, and black. That's why I'm surprised we've already had three different gray colors in only five years of C7 production. It seems whatever shade GM introduces, they sell well.

EXTERIOR 2017 totals
ARCTIC WHITE (G8G) 6199
BLACK (GBA) 5338
WATKINS GLEN GRAY (G7Q) 5822
TORCH RED (GKZ) 4621
ADMIRAL BLUE (GTR) 3068
BLADE SILVER (GAN) 2105
LONG BEACH RED (G1E) 2004
CORVETTE RACING YELLOW (GC6) 1371
BLACK ROSE (GGA) 1333
STERLING BLUE (GGB) 921
I believe Watkins Glen Gray is artificially high because of the Collector's Edition push, where you didn't have a choice. Also, if you add the two reds together, red comes out on top.

Never had a white car in all my years of driving. The grandchildren voted and picked the 2014 C7 colors and wife didn't like my suggested choices for the Grand Sport. Saw a base 2017 C7 at the local dealer with a 2LT red interior so brought the wife to see it - she like it! Felt like Juan Valdez approving the coffee beans!
Ordered an Arctic white Grand Sport with 2LT red interior, red seat belts and red calipers. Really like the look and it reflects the hot summer sun in Eastern SC.
However the rear gets dirty quickly. Put a small shelf on the support beam between the garage doors and have a bottle of "Meguiar's Ultimate Waterless Wash & Wax Spray" with some microfiber towels hanging on hooks underneath. One only for the outer exhaust pipes.
Makes quick work of the dirt between washes.
