The wave
#22
The majority of Corvette owners I've encountered in WA state wave back - those that don't either didn't see me or they are uninitiated and will probably figure out the proper response when enough of us wave at them. If they don't, oh well. I'll still wave at every one I see.

Been waving since my first brand new Corvette in 1972. I have always gotten more waves than not.

I always give a wave and seem to always get one in return. I have waved at other performace cars which also usually wave back since we are out doing about the same thing. Just yesterday had a guy with a new Titan pull up next to me and tell me the vette was beautiful and was his dream car. As a side note, Titans ain't that fast off the line.

6 for 6 and 4 for 4!? Wow! Very nice!
Other than a couple Vettes that live near my home, I rarely see any on the road. In the last week I think I've only seen 3. And all were not coming at me, so the wave was not an option.
When I do see a fellow Vette driver, and wave, more often than not I'll get a wave in return. Sometimes they leave me hanging though...
It could just be my perception, but it seems the newer the Corvette, the less likely the drive is to wave. Also, it seems the younger the driver, the less likely they are to wave.

I always wave, flash or honk for all generations. I do think there's a little anti C7 bias from C5 & C6 owners. Nothing factual to base it on, it's just a feeling.

I typically wave, but alas the wave is all but dead in central Illinois - it went away with the advent of the C6 for the most part.
I think that more and more people just have a Corvette rather than being a Corvette Person -
That aside, I still pop a wave when I see another vette, just as I wave at motorcycles without regard to their make.
I do notice that the HD riders are more likely to wave than not, a reversal of the past. (I ride both a metric and a Harley).

Yeah, that's the oddest non-wave. I can understand not getting a wave when you're actually moving, and the other driver might not see you. I'm sure I've missed many waves because I just didn't notice the other Vette. But I've had that happen at a light, when I've pulled right up next to the person and they still don't even look over. You know the look... it's obvious that they're trying hard *not* to look. I figure those people are "anti-wave" for whatever reason. Oh well, this is still America, and you still have the right not to wave.
