Default Trading for 2016 cammed and supercharged

So I'm about to trade my 2014 for a 2016 with a bunch of mods. it has
magnusson supercharger
comp cam
kooks long tube headers
Car only has 1900 km
during the test drive it drove fine. But when I was driving it home I had issues. Car was constantly hunting for idle when coming to a stop. Idle would surge from almost o to 1800 rpm multiple times before settling at 750ish rpm. Every third stop light it would actually stall while searching for idle.
So I took it back to the dealer and told them the deal was off unless they get it running perfectly. IMO it just needs a tune and it will be fine. Also the exhaust smell in the car was extremely bad. But I'm wondering what you guys think. Should I walk away from this deal?

Keep shopping. Have you considered a Z06?

The exhaust smell in the car is probably due to removed catalytic converters and the idle and stalling issues could be more than just a tune. As tempting as it is to buy all that instant power, I'd walk away from that....

Should you walk away from this deal only if you can not run.

Without buying it from the shop that did all of the work and getting the feeling that thwthey know what they're doing who knows what you're getting into. Could be a leaky bag of excrement imho. Go elsewhere. Probably too big an overlap without other factors considered. And if you think it's bad now? Wait till the weather changes. Cars with big cams or the wrong head cam combo are nightmares if you're not into the keep it running game when the engine is cold or you drive in 50f or below weather. Those days are over for me.

This is the problem with a heavily modified car. Once you buy it you are on the hook for all major repairs. I am sure you know this but want the power. My recommendation is to keep looking. Have you thought about just modifying your 2014 via a trusted shop?

Cam surge? Probably no cats and a pig rich tune. If only there was a way to see if a proper tune solves the problems. Probably would, but do you really wanna take the risk? Depends on the deal. If the car was significantly below the market of similar warrantied non modded C7s, I'd consider it. Then there's some headroom.

I would walk away, buy a known good car without the mods, and then mod it yourself.

Buying a car in this condition is like looking for a spouse at the patient discharge area of a mental institution. As dvilin indicated, don't walk but instead RUN.

I would only get the car if you want tons of unwarranted repair bills.

Find a different Corvette. The one you are describing sounds like problems. Plus, factory warranty is void with all of those mods.

Dump it, not worth the headaches and worry. If you want more power buy a Z06, or have your existing 14 modified by a reputable shop so you know what exactly was done.

This car just sounds like a terrible mistake.... Your asking for a world of trouble. Return it and never look at it again.
