C6 or C7, hmmm
I was going to buy a C6 this year, but now thinking about just getting a 2017 base coupe.
I would like to hear the opinions from some owners who had c6 and c7?
Thanks for your thoughts, Titan

I'm shopping for my first vette as well and it is going to mostly likely be C7 unless I find a classic late 60s that I can afford and really like but a C6 just doesn't do it for me at all, JMHO

100% get a C7... better in every way, but there are other factors to consider... like buying a brand new car over one that is 5+ years old. You get a warranty, better safety features, technology... the list goes on.

OP, your budget will influence your decision. As a current C6 base coupe owner, there seems to be a lot more deals on C6s than used C7s. For not a lot more money, you can buy a new C7 base coupe compared to what used C7s are going for. If your budget can handle it I would lean to the C7 over the C6. With the C6 you will likely question yourself whether you should have gotten the C7, whereas the reverse would not be true. Just my .02. Good luck with your decision and search.

I was shopping for a really nice lower mileage C6 GS. The price seemed not bad until one fateful morning I came accross an add for a new base C7, guess what the price was LESS than the used C6s I was looking at, been enjoying my new 2017 C7 ever since. I came from a C5, but worlds better in every imaginable way.

A friend of mine and long time Vette owner, currently has a '68 vert and '14 C7. He often comments that he would never buy another vintage Vette. Besides the frequent replacing of aging parts, he said it is getting harder and harder to find knowledgeable people who can still work on the older Vettes. I am sure there are others who would disagree, but I just wanted to share his experience. Happy hunting!

Picked up my C7 Wednesday. In retrospect, the C6 is SO antiquated. Definitely go for the C7. At this juncture, my only concern is that the seat bottom is HARD. Well, not the whole bottom, but C7 seats have a magnesium frame and after not too many miles you almost feel like your thighs are sitting on the frame rails. The previous owner noted this and said you get used to it. We'll see.

OP, I believe I understand your dilemma. Currently own a C5, C6, and a C7. I'm always asked which one gets driven more, which is the favorite, which gets more attention, which is more fun, etc. I just say each car does at least one thing better than the other two. Your decision point may come down to what you mostly plan to do with the car and your driving style. Between the two you ask of, I find the C6 to be more raw (not Viper raw lol) in the driving experience, and you feel a little more like YOU are in control if you want to push it a bit. The C7 is miles ahead in technology, will throw a lot of data at you if you wish, is far more configurable by the driver, and is a great cruiser with more than adequate power for playing.

As a current owner of a 2007 coupe, I would not try to get into a 2012 or 2013 C6. With a C7 I`d be getting more design, technology, performance and value for my buck.

Totally agree with everyone. Had an 05 coupe and an 09 Z06. Loved em both at the time. Now have had 14 Stingray coupe and now a 16 Z06. Like everyone has said, better performance, better interior etc....but it's just feels like a much better built and thought out car. As much as I loved my C6s, there was always kind of a budget/cost cutting feel to everything. There's much better attention to detail on the C7s. The car just feels like it's screwed together much better.

Obviously you haven't driven both cars consecutively; spend 5 or 10 mins in each then decide. Let me be the first to congratulate you on your new C7 ride

I will say the after 2 C5's, a C6 and now a 7, there is NO comparison what so ever. all different cars with different technology. Oh, and yes, congrats on your new C7.
