I've heard of people putting a felt or some kind of sound deadening mat under the Race Deck tiles to make them quiet to walk on.
Does that work?

I did the epoxy floor in 2003. I did a real good job on the preparation, but everything wears out over time. In 2013 it had worn out and didn't look good anymore. I sanded the floor down, and did it again. It was okay for about two years, then it really looked bad. So I went with Race Deck. I installed Race Deck about 7 years ago. Still looks great.
The "no jacks on tiles" is pure BS. You CAN use jacks on the tiles. Just put a small sheet of plywood under the jack and you will be fine. Have done it dozens of times.
I suggest putting down landscaping sheet material under your installation. It cuts down on foot step noise.
I currently have both racedeck in my display garage and epoxy in the work garage.
The epoxy was professionally done but is starting to crack and look like crap. So racedeck will be going there as well. Yes you can easily jack on racedeck with a small plywood pad. Even if you mess up a tile it isn't hard to pop in a new one. Racedeck really keeps the dust down.
I love the warmth of racedeck when you are lying down under a car and it is far less slippery than epoxy.

I put about 1000 sq. ft of Racedeck down last fall. Concerned about the noise reports I had heard, I put a cheap waterproof plastic covered foam underlay under the solid tiles which greatly reduced and noise (still a very little noise that doesn't bother me).
The flow though style tiles that I put in the areas I drive and park on make no noise at all.
Very happy with the look and ease of maintenance. I have used a floor jack and lifted the whole car on blocks with no issues.
In my case, or with any big area - I would suggest doing the entire area before putting anything back in the garage, as I did have to compensate for an out of square area - and it is nice to be able to make fine adjustments by moving the whole floor if needed.

Race Deck definitely , I have had it in my garage 6 years, you can vacuum it, mop it , wears like iron. also, the company has great customer service and sales!
I liked this product better than RaceDeck as it was thicker and with the open pattern, you couldn't see through to the concrete floor nearly as easy.
If using a jack, and / or jackstands you will need to put a piece of plywood or something similar between the jack and the flooring.
Super easy..... stays clean on it's own. Always looks brand new. I run the shop vac over it once or twice a year and it picks up all the sand, etc that drops between the open areas of the vented tiles. i can walk out in the garage with socks on and they don't pick up any dirt or stuff. Any rain runoff, or snow melt falls through the open slots and runs out the door. Can be easily pulled up in pieces, or large sections to power wash if you so desire, although I have not found the need to do so in the 1 and a half years I've had my floor down.

Another epoxy fan here!
I installed this epoxy in 2014 and it is still looking like new today. Just sweep and mop occasionally and it is good to go. After 2+ years of use, still looks like new.
I will agree, that when wet, it is very slick, so if that is a major concern, look elsewhere
I would have been happy with epoxy,tile deck but ultimately decided on the tile. It's not loud walking on it but it does have the clomp-clomp sounds described by others which I kinda like for some reason.
My only concern is how it will hold up with the winter weather. Time will tell.
I have epoxy. Was done to a brand new garage floor (new addition) and even with proper prep new Virgin surface and the epoxy still lifted. I didn't start parking a car on it for more than a year and it didn't matter. The hot sticky summer tires just tore it up exactly where the tread touched. So when I noticed that I out 4 pieces if carpet down.
I would do race deck if I could do it over. Now I just leave it be. But I'm also not jacking up my car in the garage.

Mine did the same thing and since I had an older garage floor they ground the floor and patched cracks but it peeled later after spending 3000.00 !~!~!~! I am really pissed at the company that did it with Rustoleum paint epoxy products !! And I even put indoor -outdoor rug strips under both car tires !!! Wayne
I used the Rustoleum Epoxy Floor Kit.
My Garage was around 6 months old with a little oil from my previous 68 before I stopped my valve cover leak.
I bought degreaser & prepped per the instructions. Etch etc.
Made sure to rinse as much as they suggest & then rinsed onset more. Let dry.
My floor still looks perfect.

I have a dog a 3 year old female yellow lab and she would be scared of those tools and that ladder hanging over her head like they are over the Corvettes !
