The Bin Buddy
The Official Story

Hello Everyone

The time has come to address all the false information, conspiracy
theories and Love for this Product.

Out of all the Product Launches we have done over the years, I have
never seen anything like all the Hoopla that surrounds the "Bin Buddy"

From the second we launched this product to Corvette Forum Members
the demand skyrocketed and out stripped supply. For that we thank
you very much.

There is no conspiracy to defraud you of $8 shipping. Custom Corvette
Accessories does not Manufacture the Bin Buddy, nor does CCA
Distribute the Bin Buddy to other Vendors. Some Vendors charge
shipping, some vendor don't.

There is also a lot of discussion that an individual with the time and
skills could also make this product at a craft store for a few bucks. This
is correct, you can. We have no problem with people making things
for themselves. In Fact, I personally love the idea of people making
things for their Corvettes. For many of you, you remember 11 years
ago when CCA was born. Custom Corvette Accessories was founded
on the "FattDaddy" which we made, (at the time) just for a few friends.
For Us, making your own Corvette Parts is fantastic and we fully
support you in doing so, not to would be Hypocritical because that is
how our Company was founded.

Now, on to the Story of the Bin Buddy

Late one lustrous evening I was sitting on the couch with my wife
enjoying "Say Yes to the Dress" and doing a little work for my friends
here on the Corvette Forum. I happen to be in my work email (only
on commercials as not to miss the dress selection) when I got an email
asking if we would be interested in selling a product that was just
invented. As much as you would think that I would jump up off the
couch and say Halleluiah, we've been saved (not that we need saving)
but my reaction was a little more muted because we get emails like
this every week and about 99.5% of them have issues that would
prohibit them from being a marketable item, like limited interest or
application, cost to manufacture or about 100 different other things...
This one however, caught my attention, It was simple and was badly
needed, so I said to my wife, (who I can tell was thinking about what
dress this poor girl was going to end up with) what do you think about
this, her reply...You will sell a TON of those.

The Bin Buddy was not Invented or Manufactured by CCA.
In Fact it is one of your fellow Corvette Forum Members who came up
with the Idea. Now I am not going to disclose who it is, because they
do not want to be involved in the Retail Sales end of the business and
prefers to be the original manufacture. The Manufacturer of this
product and the Seat Belt Stay is Sandy Eggo Designs.

After seeing a sample, how it worked and the quality of it, we worked
with SED on bringing it to market. The owner of SED is a first class
individual and we did the whole deal on a hand shake. The only thing
we asked for was a short period of time during the Launch of the
Product to be the exclusive outlet. When I say short, I mean short,
like 1 month, after which SED was free to market it's product to any
vendor they choose to, and there are now many who carry this product

I would like to publically thank SED for
honoring their hand shake deal with us, and we wish you all the
success you deserve with this fantastic product.

The Bin Buddy was brought out of pre-production into full production
and a price was set based on design cost, material cost and packaging.
That price was $49.99. The product was successfully launched right
here on the Corvette Forum. Within a very short time we sold through
the entire first run.

SED and CCA stayed in close contact regarding the launch and
feedback here on the Forum.

The Feedback suggested several things.

1st, design wise you all wanted a pad on top to stop slippage of
items on the top shelf and you also suggested a lip on the top shelf.

2nd, the feedback suggested that we would do better at a lower price
point. (while I completely understand this, there is a TON of cost
associated with designing and bringing a new product to full market)

We gave that feedback to SED. They went back to the drawing board,
and produced Bin Buddy V2.0 which incorporated a liner on top and
they also added a top lip per your requests. At the same time, they
were able to negotiate a lower per unit price due to the overwhelming
demand. The new price was set at $39.99. We released V2.0 to huge
demand and once again out stripped supply. Supply was ramped up
even further and the rest is history.

We want to thank all you for your enthusiasm for this product, the
success of it's launch and your continued support

Well said, Chip. I love the product, and I have better things to do with my time than figuring out how to manufacture simple, low-cost gadgets like "Bin Buddy." The fit is perfect, and it's quite unlikely anyone could do it as well without a lot of experience.

It never ceases to amaze me what some people get all bent out of shape about.

Let me tell you something. The first thing I ordered for my 2016 Corvette was a bin buddy and I have never regretted it. Great design. Perfect fit. Looks factory. Thanks for making a high quality product to fit our high quality cars.

It amazes me how guys can purchase $70,000 cars but argue over $8.00 in shipping.

Mine just came in today. But there were no installation instructions? Is there a video somewhere? JUST KIDDING, it's great. Nice, precise fitting design.

About as bad as the guys who bitch about SiriusXm radio and how much of a hassle it is to get the $30/6mo deal every six months instead of paying the half price a year deal for $100 for a net savings of $40. I paid the $49 plus shipping for my bin buddy and don't regret it for minute. And I don't want a homemade one in my $70K sports car either. Dwell on couple bucks and forget about all the other times you saved a bundle elsewhere...Like this little prize I found It lets the sun in to shine on my Bin Buddy
