Burning Brakes
I had a couple 2016 SS Camaro rental cars, and thrashed one in the mountains, it was a nice car. very fast, handled really well for it's size. Visibility was a big weakness, but it was fun to drive fast.

Because "Motor Trend" says so???
Yeah, no way I'd care anything about what those goofy hipster-lovin' idiots say. They should just be happy about their dozens of readers and keep their opinions to e-cars and spam.

I'm with ya there.
Those 2 dummies they have in the videos are annoying and come across as ordinary Joes who are as credible as my next door neighbor.
The best part of their reviews is Randy Pobst's analysis.

it is an amazing performer on track with the z07 package. You cant really accurately compare the whole lightning lap list as posted because of 2 repavings of VIR in recent years. VIR Grand West is at least 3-4 seconds a lap faster now than it used to be. But if you read the last lightning lap you will see that the z07 equipped GS clocks in just like the McLaren 570s and the 911 GT3rs which is hugely impressive. The z07 downforce is the secret sauce, i think, for the laptime. VIR Grand West yas a lot of slower infield sections vs. The VIR full course and that is where the GS gains. The 570s blitzes the GS by more than 10mph down the straight but the GS dominates through the turns.

Nope. Birds have standards.
Now, if MT is lining their cage, well, maybe.

Just watched a Hennessey video...yea, I know what your going to say about him but for the moment, its just about the video of a stock ZL1 vs a stock Z06. The result was very surprising.

Advanced
That show was a re-run. It appears GM is going to give the 2018 Camaro the A10. See what they say about it then. Hope they can do a better job than they did with the A8. We will have to wait and see. Looks like Ford is having problems with the A10. I won't be in a hurry to buy a 2018 Camaro.

Like most things with Hennessey, this video is strange...it was posted Dec. 1, 2016.

I have to wonder, do people on the Porsche forums pan the Cayenne because it's big and heavy? Or do they accept that Porsche built a sporty version of an SUV that won't keep up with a 911 but is still fun to drive?
Does everybody on this forum hate every car GM makes except for Corvettes? I like my Corvettes but they can't do what a truck can do. So should I hate my Corvettes because I can't pick up a sheet of plywood at Home Depot or should I hate my Silverado because it's not as fast as the Corvette?

Melting Slicks
So many Corvette owners put their fingers in their ears and repeat they have the best car ever when news like this comes out.... lol. The ZL1 is a bad bitch and I would consider trading the C7 for one... but I like that targa.
Hopefully it's not a hunk of **** like the 8 speed was, that would be a huge advantage

I don't know if he is kidding. These forums are great but my Vette is on order and so far I've heard:
Grand Sport = wannabe Z06
Arctic White = refrigerator color showing no imagination
Red/Black Interior = "somehow you think red is an ok interior color"
Black Wheels = silly fad, chrome is classic
No Nav = Google is going to be broken up and bye bye Google Maps dont'cha know
No heritiage = hash marks are the only reason to buy a GS
No carbon fiber = so you like cheap plastic?
Personally I appreciate well engineered things. Corvettes, Camaros, Porsches it doesn't matter. Do I want to buy all of them? No but that doesn't make them poor performers or badly engineered.

If I was just now looking at getting my Vette, I'd really think long and hard at the ZL1 to satisfy my 650 itch, plus it can be taken to a track.
For my vert itch, I'd have probably gotten a BMW.
Oh well, it's only money.

As a stingray and SS owner, I feel obligated to chime in. I bought a '16 ss last year to replace my aging e92M3 for winter use while my c7 is in storage.
I have two kids and they fit just fine when one sits in the front, seat moved up, and one sits behind them in a booster. If we go anywhere as a family, we take the wife's car. It absolutely is functional as a school pickup/grocery getter.
As for visibility, it was my #1 concern in buying the car. The M3 was essentially a fishbowl compared to the SS, but you know what? After two hours of driving, I stopped worrying about it - we have parking sensors, beeps, rear camera and putting the drivers seat up a tad delivers nice visibility. There was just a thread on the ss forum about what owners hate about the SS, and guess what, in a 5 page diatribe of (mostly ridiculous) complaints, not one about visibility. So, I'm not the only one that got used to it very quickly! The c7 is not really any better visibility wise IMO.
Another thing to chew on - If I had purchased the SS first, I would have had a VERY hard time rationalizing the c7 (I am a vette guy, I owned a c5zo6). The 0-60 times are very similar, if not the same, it sounds just as good, definitely drives softer and less precise, but is more comfortable as a result, and all that for a lot less cash.
The new camaro is nothing like the old one, they totally revamped the car and from the interior, to electronics, to performance; this new car is spectacular. My only real complaint with the car is the left thigh bolster gives me sciatica pain, but then again, my c7 has the same issue, only worse.
Go drive one and report back! The new camaro is fantastic!

Kidding, and I love the contrast of your wheels with the black color.
