Best car lift for C7 recommendation

Thanks for the thread! I'm in the final stages of choosing a 2-post lift for my garage. The forum definitely had some good information to offer.

Looking at the Bendpak XPR-10AS-LP considering the low height of the C7.

The floor is that blue. It is a metallic epoxy. One base coat, then several coats of color and finally a clear top coat. It was the first thing I did after I bought the car, other than having the windows tinted. I love it.

I am starting to look at the scissor lifts. Harbor Freight even has one that gets good reviews for about $1699.

I'd rather have a 2 post asymmetrical but only have 10 ft ceilings.

Thanks Bill, My garage will be 16' wide by 28' deep. I plan on having the garage door to be 10' wide, if that makes a difference. I don't know for sure what my contractor has figured for the height but I have told him that I want to put in a lift. I will admit I know nothing about car lifts and the main reason for this lift will be to make it easier for me to clean and polish the lower part of the cars and to also have the ability to change wheels from summer tires to winter tires. Reason: bad back and closing in on 70 years old. But I want to do it right and not regret buying the wrong lift. Thanks again for the information.

I have been doing research on this very question for a month. This is the one I will be getting later this year. It is a Triumph Four Post Lift and it is in your price range. You may want to consider the QuickJack 5000, although it will only lift the vehicle 2'.

I suggest telling the contractor building your garage exactly how much height you need. You will need a lot for a lift. Don't let the contractor guess. You will likely have problems.

I have a Direct Lift 8000# that I use to double the storage capacity in my 3rd bay garage. Great for anything except for rotating tires. Ive had it for about 4 years and love it. It is not bolted to the floor but could be, not needed which allows it to be rolled outisde. Cost I think was $2300 delivered, you have to put it together but it was easy to do. I have 12' ceilings in there. 14' would be ideal and you have to make sure you have a high lift garage door installed. One that goes to the ceiling. I had to convert mine which wasnt a big deal. I really like to add a Quick or maxjack to my other garage too.

I put up a 30x36' garage a few years ago and had the ceiling height built to 13.8' and purchased a 10,000 Lb twin post above ground Atlas lift from Greg Smith Equipment. Check out their website they have a lot of information about purchasing a lift. Mine cost $2,495 shipped and no tax! Does everything I want it to do and handles my Vette and Silverado just fine!

I've been looking at 2 post lifts. BendPak has a couple of 2 post lifts that fit in a garage with a 10 ft ceiling. Their GP-7LCS series is designed to fit a garage with a 9 ft. ceiling, and their GP-7LC is designed to fit a garage with a 10 ft. ceiling. Of course, the price is twice the price of the Harbor Freight scissor lift.

* I'd shoot for a 14-foot high ceiling at its highest.
* Since wiring is cheap, you may want to run a circuit to the ceiling above where the lift will be. Dropping power to the lift from the ceiling is a lot better than running cords across the floor.
* Use a jack-lift garagedoor opener with a high-lift track and tell your contractor you want the track to hug the ceiling. I was out of state when my garage door installer put in my garage door. Despite having a vaulted ceiling with a 20-foot peak, he ran the garage door track at a 10-foot height and I had to have it redone.
* Look at the lift you're getting and what its concrete specs are. Worth paying a bit extra now for 4" of concrete an 4000psi.
* You'll want the floor to be level rather than slightly sloped.
All of these things are pretty cheap to do now, and moderately - very expensive to repair later.

I went with a Bendpak XPR-10AS-LP (asymmetrical) and loving it. Greatly appreciated all the advice from here and Garage Journal.
Have to drive my Z06 on to 1/4" boards but then very easy to place the arms and lift.
