Melting Slicks
Looks good, The front fascia takes some design cues from the new Camaro ZL1 (better cooling?).

I would think that whatever it is, the 2018 Z06 would share the front fascia with the additional cooling vents and perhaps the revised hood vent. I would not want that wing for daily street use, however it would be nice if it was a removable feature similar the center wicker bill. Perhaps the package offers both the street version and track version rear spoiler.
The C&D article is standard auto rag fluff. The pictures and artist renditions are also pretty lazy. They airbrush "ZR1" onto the side vents yet leave the Z06 logo on the Z06 wheels.

If it really does sport both the Z51 spoiler and that huge wing, perhaps they will design it so the huge wing can be neatly and easily unbolted for normal non aggressive street driving. I would not want to be the douche driving around town with a huge wing like that but would like to be able to quickly bolt it on for occasional track days, shows, etc.
I never liked the ZO6 spoilers. If the ZR1 came with the Z51 spoiler and a bolt on/off wing, that would be a huge plus for me. Also, I think the front bumper looks far better than the current Z06 front bumper.
I also thinK the front fender vent will have a ZR1 specific design (like the c6 ZR1). I don't think they will just stick a ZR1 emblem in there where the ZO6 one was...that is, assuming this thing is actually called a ZR1 rather than a ZO6x or such...

Whether the Big A$$ Wing will be removable and/or optional, no one knows right now.

I really could not see buying that car. The Z is more than I can handle as is.

IMO, anyone driving it on the streets regularly would be a Poser, suffering from a lack of...uh....
A "professional driver" would be driving a Race Car, not a street car.
For HPDE, the existing wing is enough no?

same hood treatment as the ZL1 1LE.
