The engineers have said no, the case is two inches too long to fix. Car & Driver says yes. Pick the story you like the best.

Trust me its yes. You will see an A10 in a Corvette in 2018. I promise. Its the last thing GM wants to have leak out before the bash to kill 2017 sales even more. Its coming!

I'd say it will be in the car by 2019. But 2018 would depend on the resources GM has dedicated to getting the packaging done and the tooling kicked off. Someone must know, as this would require a unique housing versus other applications. GM Powertrain I think buys the housings, unless they die cast them in house (which given their volume they might). The more work in house, the less likely you get leaks of information.

Tadge also said the A8 wouldn't make it for the 2015 production run!

Not sure why so many want a ten speed automatic. The transmission will be shifting all the time.

Not necessarily. Depends on the ratio spread and shift point algorithm.

There will NEVER be a mid engine Corvette either!

I'm in the camp that the ten speed will make it for 2019.

Hope not as I plan to pull the trigger in 2018 once the new paint shop gets going. Timing works out well for me.

True, but there is a point of no real gains.

IIRC, someone big at GM said a year or two ago that the only advantage of the A10 over the A8 was slightly better fuel economy. Their selection of ratios and extra shifts required cancelled out the performance benefits of the two extra gears.

Have they solved the problems some people have been experiencing with the A8? If so, it might be better to get the proven A8 vs the inexperienced A10.

The A8 is far from proven.........

They should go back to 4speed Auto. Never had an issue with a 4 speed with overdrive. They went to 6 and early models had issues. They went to 8 and for some of us (not all) its a disaster. 10 speed?????? You gotta be kidding.

Maybe Ford's input could make it work as advertised. GM alone certainly couldn't do it w/ the A8

I hope if they go with the 10 speed cant see it being any worse than what they are calling a 8 speed auto trans.

A10 seems to be getting impressive reviews with the ZL1...

I hope the corvette gets the A10 sooner rather than later...although the manual with rev matching is awesome too..

I think the A10 in the ZL1 is track ready in that model...hopefully that cooling cability will be integrated into the corvette application when it comes on board
