This is the only GM "Wing". And I like it.

I like the "base spoiler" the best because in my eyes it accentuates the lines/angles of the car instead having a straight line across like the Z51 spoiler. I am not going fast enough for the spoiler to have an effect so looks is my sole criteria.

Like with everything about the Corvette its about function and bang for the buck not always the prettiest way. You will see things like this throughout the entire car, best function for the dollar.

I don't like the Z51 spoiler as it has spaces on the front side that can collect dirt and carp. They most certainly could have made a better fitting and better flowing part. I like the stage one spoiler on the GS/Zo6..........

Gonzo, are you talking about the new proposed wing for the upcoming ZR1? If you are, I like the wing. But let's reserve judgement for the real unveiling.
Maybe Corvette is trying to equal the downforce similar to the Porsche 911 GT3.

I wouldn't call the C7's rear spoiler/wing options aftermarket afterthoughts - they're modest, somewhat well integrated designs (though obviously added-on). However, the C7's rear spoiler really should've been part of the bodywork, similar to an F430, M3 CSL or Viper, for example. The Corvette's add-on rear spoiler design is likely quite intentional and not an afterthought. It's a cheap to make, money making option added to a base car or used to differentiate a more expensive, higher level trim package or model (ZF1, Z51, GS or Z06).

It's interesting to me that both the "base" (I hate that word when it comes to Corvettes!) and Z51 / ZF1 spoilers look great on this car. They're two distinctly different looks that both work very well with the rest of the rear end styling. I think GM nailed it on both counts.
