Factory subwoofer

Factory subwoofer
I have a 2016 Z51 1LT. Is it possible to add the factory subwoofer to the Bose 1LT stereo? Is there a pigtail already in place? If so, is there a separate amp that goes along with the sub? Is the wiring pre-installed for that as well?
Thanks

The seller refunded my money, but let me keep the broken C7 Bose amp. So, I did an "autopsy" on it. It contains 7 channels of "Class-D" audio amps. The amp chip is made by Texas Instruments, qty=2 of TAS5424BQ1, which is rated at 23Watts RMS into 4 Ohm, with 1% THD, or 38Watts RMS into 2 Ohm, with 1% THD. I think the Bose speakers are 2 Ohm, so that would be a total system power of 7CH X 38W = 266W. The LT2 and LT3 systems with the added subwoofer have an additional (different IC part number) power amplifier IC for it, but I haven't found the specs yet on it.
The 7 amplifers are configured with 9 speakers as follows:
Driver door has one woofer (Amp #1) and a Mid & tweeter (Amp #2)
Center dash speaker (Amp #3)
Passenger door has one woofer (Amp #4) and a Mid & tweeter (Amp #5)
Passenger side rear cargo area woofer (? or midrange?) (Amp #6)
Driver side rear cargo area woofer (? or midrange?) (Amp #7)
The 10 Speaker LT2/LT3 system has an added dual voicecoil woofer (in a ported enclosure) in the back wall of the cargo compartment, which is driven by another Class-D power amplifier IC (RMS power is TBD).

I am looking into this as well....I actually bought a factory subwoofer from Ebay ($67), before I bought my C7 1LT.....
I think the sub connects to an amplifier which is part of the multi-amp module mounted to the floor of the cargo area...so the wiring is easy and short, if a subwoofer factory harness does not exist in a 1LT. I suspect that the multi-amp is the same for a 1LT or 2LT/3LT, and you just have to run the wires to it.
Anybody have a wiring diagram of the factory stereo, so the 1LT and 2LT/3LT versions can be compared?
Can anybody look up the part numbers of the audio amp, 1LT versus 2LT, to see if they are the same?

I did some research, looks like the 10 speaker system (with subwoofer, RPO = UQS) has a different part number for the Amp, 23404447.
The 9 speaker system in the 1LT trim package (RPO = UQA) has the 84073606 amp.
Looks like we have to buy the ...47 amp, or add an aftermarket amp to drive the Bose subwoofer.

Thanks for finding the info! I will probably stick with the factory stuff if I can find it at a reasonable price somewhere. So I am assuming the inputs from the radio to either amp are the same? Does the amp handle the crossovers for the sub? Did your sub come with the pigtail? If it didn't maybe its part of the amp.

I also added the factory sub but went with an aftermarket amp. However all of us will need the interior plastic trim piece that covers the rear hatch area but has the speaker opening and grill.
Does anyone have the GM part number for that piece?
Thanks

To where did you wire the input of your amp to?

Another update...I just bought the Bose Amp 23404447 on Ebay ($165), to go with Bose sub (20985319) I also bought on Ebay ($76)......I will try it out on my 17 GS 1LT and report back....

Yes, you need the rear trim panel, to cover the added subwoofer. The 2LT/3LT panel has a speaker grill opening for the woofer, and coupes and convertibles have different pns for the panel, due to the lack of targa-top hold-down brackets in a convertible. These panels go for $128 to $160 new.....cheaper for a used one on Ebay. I will go buy the panel after I try out the woofer & amp.

If it does work,it's a sub (no pun intended) $400 mod. Please let us know if it does and if it's worth the cost for whatever difference you hear.

A setback today....the amplifier was delivered...it does not work...it has evidence it came from a flood car.....returning to the Ebay seller...I thought the low price was a red flag...but the seller claimed it was a good working unit.
