Got a GS owner upset with me....
Was speaking to a older gentleman who just purchased a new GS.
He wasn't happy with the 29 mpg he was getting compared to his c6 that was getting 32 mpg.
I started laughing and told him I was thrilled getting 19 mpg driving mine like I stole it.
I got him really pissed by saying who buys a vette for gas mileage?
He turned around and walked away.

Some people believe finding something to bitch about or critique is a sign of intelligence...
Best to not waste time with them for any length of time

I love the mpg of the vette. I won't buy a car that gets horrible fuel economy. Been there, done that, and man did it make me crazy. I still own cars like that. I actually would plan out my trips. I can afford the gas, that's not the issue, I just find it particularly grating. I'd rather pay 75k and get 29+ mpg highway since it won't annoy me every time I get gas.

Dumb a** ought to try driving a Z06. Then he'd really have something to gripe about.

Hard to believe there are people like that. I mean it is down right laughable. I guess people have to find something to complain about.

I definitely didn't buy the Z06 for mileage but it was nice seeing it average 26.1 for the return trip from E. TN to IL running 80-82 on the interstate most of the way. It isn't a daily driver and it is showing a long run average of a tad over 22 last time I looked which is fine with me. My 2014 ATS which is a daily driver averages just under 25 MPG (3.6L RWD premium trim) but fortunately most of my driving is on open rural roads which allows good MPG. If I wanted to bitch about poor MPG my 2006 4WD GMC diesel pickup only gets 19 MPG average (again lots of rural driving) but I am pretty happy with it. I well remember driving my parents 1972 IH Travelall with a 392 V8 and 3 speed auto long before there were lockup converters and it got about 13 MPG going fast, slow, towing, not towing, etc. so pretty much anything today is far better than the true gas guzzlers of years past.

Look at it from his point of view.
He paid serious money to go from an obsolete C6 to a wonderful, highly technologically advanced C7 with all those gas saving things like AFM, VVT, DI and more gears plus a lightweight aluminum frame and lightweight hollow cast aluminum suspension parts, lightweight carbon fiber hood and roof(if a coupe)and he ended up with worse gas mileage, that costs him additional money every time he pulls up to a gas pump.

Ive had and have a bunch of vehicles. Other than the 5 speed Corolla, this Corvette is my best economy car ever. Over 31mpg on highway. Go figure, i never even considere fuel use when i bought it but ill take 30 anyday. Why even when im on the hammer it gets 16 something. Ha. Win win

There's no crying in baseball and you don't buy a Corvette for the gas mileage.

Some people aren't happy unless they are bit-ing. My C6 did pretty good and the C7 does a bit better, but it is performance car and I get at least 30 smiles per gallon.
It's to bad that he is unhappy with his GS, but I am sure that most of the GS's won't be getting much better than that....oh well.

Melting Slicks
This '16 A8 best I ever seen was 28 on a long trip, lots of hills and 70mph (so really 80mph unless you want to get run over) isnt the best for fuel mileage though
Most likely the guy just didnt like the car and needed something to complain about. Change comes hard for some.

Come on John---that's surely nothing to get really pissed about, very likely was something else.
