Got a GS owner upset with me....

You and me both. The best I get is 20-21. I usually average around 18-19 with my all time best at 25 which was probably because of my break-in period. I'm just happy I'm getting better mpg than my V6's and I'm pretty sure I drive faster with the vette. I also don't drive very far and I have a lot of stop and go traffic on the freeway.
I do find that I get even better mpg the faster I drive. I'm guessing this is due to more consistent speed and less sudden acceleration at those speeds.

Come on John---that's surely nothing to get really pissed about, very likely was something else.

The GS has more drag from added Downforce. So it's going to get a bit less MPG. Add the fact that you don't usually start seeing your best MPG until around 10k clocked on the drive train, and well... there you go.

never checked it in my life, no reason to
When its empty you still have to fill it
If one is THAT worried about 3 mpg, 87 vs 91 they cant afford the car period or have a serious personal tick
Personal opinion is those instant readouts are nothing more than a gimmick to get new purchasers past their warranty period if they pussyfoot it all the time. Anyone ever consider that?

I agree. While I think it is cool that the Corvette gets good fuel economy. Fuel economy is the last thing I care about when purchasing a performance car. Actually, I wouldn't mind losing more if the car had a nice even 500 h.p. from the factory.

Its nice to get 20 mpg instead of 15 mpg on the long straight stretches between tracks and twisties. That's what I like about the vette.

When the little needle gets close to the "E" I pump it full of 93 and could care less how many MPG's I got. I get plenty of smiles/mile. Most fun car I've ever had!

When I sold my CTS-V, the lifetime MPG in the OnStar app was around 13mpg. So, I do appreciate the fuel economy of the Vette and that I can drive more than 300 miles without having to get gas on a road trip.

I'm going to be retiring in a couple of years. I'll have enough money to buy a 60 or 70,000 car. But that doesn't mean I'm going to want to **** money away on cost of ownership factors such as gas.

Even new C7's need to break in before getting their best MPG. Also wind and topography on any drive is a factor much less driver inputs. I have not broken the 30 MPG over 25 miles yet but I don't like to be passed either. I may never see the "coming down the mountain mileage" others post because alas and alack we have very few mountains in Alabama.
