My car is affected so I'll probably make an appointment to take it in before I get the notice in the mail.

Big Thanks to MacMulkin for bringing this recall to our attention.

That shows this dealership is top notch to alert CF members regardless if we made a purchase via their dealership or not.

Gives me confidence to possibly deal with them in the future.

Big thanks to TNSQUIRE Post # 18 for providing the link to insert our VIN number.

Carbon Fiber Bezel: $595.00
Custom Horn Pad: $645.00
Carbon Flash Stage 2 kit with the Z06 under tray: $1895.00

Looks great. Thanks for the explanation. By your pictures I see how the Caravaggio Horn pad has the airbag built in like the OEM plastic. I agree it looks better and certainly finishes the steering wheel.

Love the look but it's way TOO expensive. I'd rather buy new wheel (rims).

What a drag. Both my 15 Stingray and 15 Tahoe are on the list.

The "Right Thing(tm)" would be to update the software over the air auto('cuse the pun) magically like Tesla does. Heck my friggin cell phone can update itself over the air? How many cell phones would I need to sell to cover the cost of a vette?

Fact is, we are fortunate that today's cars can have software updated instead of having parts replaced because they were hard coded.
BS! You know as a high priced computer consultant who bills by the hour, having to take quite a number of hours out of my day to sit in a dealership means I'm literally out hundreds of dollars! Is GM gonna cover that cost? You bet your **** they won't. Why do I have to eat it?

Plus this is not rocket science. My cell phone can get a whole new OS over the air but my car can't? So yeah, I'll bitch and complain. As somebody who's been in the software business since the 80's having software being updatable instead of hard coding things is nothing new. We've been doing that at least 30 years ago! You are giving them way too much slack.

When Jeeps Cherokees were reportedly being hacked over the air Chrysler sent a USB stick to reprogram it. They also have regular radio/infotainment upgrades you can download.

With 3.6 million being recalled better get it done before everyone finds out and rushes to the dealer.

Dealer did mine in under 30 minutes. Recall fix is called "reprogram SDM" according to invoice.

So far the thing under my right foot has kept me happy. I rarely use any navigation and car play works good. Never touch onstar. Almost too much electronic stuff.

Bought a '16 Z51 Convertible today and dealer advised that car needed the update and they did it while I was signing the papers so I would not have to bring it back in. Took about 30 minutes or less.

Good deal. Mao basically, they are not swapping out the air bag, but just reprogramming the system information?

My car is awaiting transportation at Macmulkin, according to the Onstar website my car was on the recall list for airbag reprogramming last Friday
when I checked yesterday (Monday) it was no longer on the list so I'm guessing it was done on the weekend.
