Petty but...
So I know this is a trivial problem, but do all of the FOBs rattle. They are not of the highest quality construction. Again, I know this is petty, so please don't start flaming me, but just wondering if it's just my FOBs or are they all this way?

When I bought my Z06 the salesman gave me the fob and I was really disappointed. It's basically the same as my old C6 fob. Had many issues with my C6 fob coming loose from the internal key. Cost me over $300 just to have a new one replaced and reprogrammed. Not fond of the fob. You would think, new generation would get a new fob or a better built one.

Mines a year old and works and looks great. How does a fob rattle anyway? Isn't it in your pocket?

I guess it rattles; tried hard to do it, grasping the key part in my thumb and index finger whilst shaking the fob part. But man, it's so minor, I can't imagine losing sleep over it. Rattle away.

No problem here on any of my Corvettes.

Mine doesn't rattle that I can hear, and even with my bad ears I can find those rattles!
There is nothing petty at all about an annoying rattle or squeak so there's no need to worry about that! I recall the comments on here about folks losing the smart part of the fob due to it coming unlatched from the key and the king ring. That makes me a little more cautious so I always hold onto it good when it is in my hand. Maybe that's why I never notice the rattle.

Then a poster mentioned they lost their FOB and found they were holding the removable key and a key ring!
Promoted me to buy this silicone key FOB cover! It holds the removal key in place. They also come in colors for a his and hers (or for my PC correct college granddaughter, hers and hers etc!) Check the NET, Amazon has them. It will probably stop the rattle as well.
Silicone Key Fob Cover Holds Removable Key on to FOB. Mine Came Lose in My Pocket and a Forum Posted Reported Loosing Their FOB! If It's on a Key Rig with Other Items, Not Hard to Occur. Comes Out Much Easier Than My C6 FOB>

I usually keep mine in my pocket too. I could see how the key may separate from the FOB.
That silicone doohicky looks cool; seems like a cheap insurance policy from accidentally washing a loose FOB in the laundry.

No, neither FOB rattles and the key fits tight.

I've had five of this style fob, and none of them have ever rattled.

I have always wondered why the majority of people capitalize the word fob as if it were an acronym like freight on board. Can anyone enlighten me why people call it a key FOB?
