My 2016 engine and A8 transmission were built in the U.S.

My 2016 C7 says US engine too, but we are not talking about 2016s
Really whats the difference anyhow, I have a 2016 GMC, 2016 C7 and a 2017 Acura and the the Acura has the highest US canadian/US parts, 72%. The 'American' truck has 45% lol. C7 is 65% if I remember.

Mexico = No unions, lower payroll, and I hate to say it, more efficient workers.

Everyone of the Mexican people I met working there seemed like genuinely nice, welcoming people working hard to feed their families and better themselves.
It's the ones who are not working in factories you need to keep an eye on.

We have an SQ5 and I won't buy another made anywhere else except Germany.
Your paying a premium for the country of origin. If they want to cut the price 10K, fine but they are not.
Audi is getting huge negative feedback from customers on it.

Lets wait to pass judgement regarding what comes out of Mexico compared to Germany .... although I do understand your concern ..however we are not comparing Mexico to Germany in this thread ...

Considering that this is 8/16 having your 2016 MY Corvette built next month is quite an accomplishment. But, I do have to ask. Why is GM still building 2016's along side the 2017 models?
GM has had their Corvette's manual transmissions built in Mexico since 1997. Nothing surprising in that.

Difficult to read, but I think that that window sticker is for a car with an automatic transmission, which is made in the USA, thus the sticker could not be a transition error.

But it could be an error. Right? Tonawanda is still listed as the producer of the LT1: http://media.gm.com/media/us/en/gm/c...tonawanda.html

Maybe GM hired a new printer and they thought Tonawanda is in Mexico.

i have read where the V8s used in the pontiac g8 gt and gxp(have one of each) were only assembled in mexico. then shipped on boats to australia where the g8s were built. like current chevy SS are.
