Any idea on why the 2017 model Corvettes are still not posted on Chevrolet's website. There seems to be plenty of people who have ordered and/or taken ownership of the 2017 Grand Sport and maybe other Corvette models?
I only see the 2016 models on their website.

I don't think they rolled the web site until September of last year. It might have been late August though.

I had my 2016 long before the website was updated last year

GM should be ashamed of themselves for not having it updated. You could order the cars 2 months ago and you don't have it updated?

Those customers who really want them early learn how to buy with phone calls to large dealers based on press releases and early magazine articles etc. They may buy without they or the dealer knowing all the details.
Ordered my C7 in 2013 before the dealer or I knew the price! Negotiated based on whatever the MSRP would be. Dealers know their discounts and can price accordingly.

Suspect the dealers who own the 2016's, not GM, prefer the 2017s aren"t promoted until they unload their old models! GM isn't building any more 2016s so it is in their interest to get as many 2017 orders as possible but they must also keep the dealers happy.

According to Chevrolet, as of last week, they will have the website updated withing the next couple of weeks. I too wanted to price out a GS and have not been able to due to the delay in getting their website updated. GM GET YOUR ACT TOGETHER!!

I plead ignorance. What do dealers do with unsold 2016 Corvettes? Do they just hold on and continue to lower the price until they are sold? There must be some price point where there is going to be a buyer?

In a word....... YES. I've seen so many already 8-10k off MSRP. Basically they take a loss on option markups which is where they make most of their money. A more optioned car is way more profit to GM and dealers as the car basically costs the same to produce.

Sounds like you want to have the site up so you can price a car, kicking tires! Can't blame you but if you buy cars that are on the lot, a dealer must buy them first. They can and are doing that now.

Hmm, if you were a dealer you'd think they had their act together by not pushing 2017's and helping you sell the 2016's you have in stock!

Has nothing to do with GM updating their website either. As of Tuesday, you were STILL able to build a 16! That to me is sloppiness from GM - they announced that June production of 17's were happening early in the year - they had plenty of time to get the website updated

Yes I want to price the car since I am the daughter of a retired GM employee. Not kicking tires and I don't want what is in a lot I want to build my own, go to the dealer with my build in hand. Not my problem if the dealers ordered too many cars that they now can't sell.

Would think this is a time dealers swap cars with other dealers more than usual to get color, options etc customers want.

I talked to GM military discount website in late June and one guy couldn't give me any info on it and the other guy told me it won't be posted until sometime in August because there is a delay in the system. So take that for what it's worth.

My dealer has military pricing on the 2017 Coupe I have on order. Almost $5K discount.

I agree it is poor management to NOT be able to build and price a 2017 when you can order one. What about this solution, keep the "build your 2016 Corvette" site up but simply add the ability to "build a 2017 Corvette" site at the same time. It's not rocket science but apparently it is with whoever makes those decisions.
It's a matter of not knowing or caring what your customer want. Yes, I know they are in touch with a select few vetters but they still miss some big details in my opinion.
Especially when some options won't allow some things and ask to remove or keep. If it were simple ok, but it s not always that simple.
They dropped the ball in my opinion but it is doubtful they really care the build a 2017 is not up and running!

Guys, they have been this way almost every year.......
Hell, I can't believe they had the Stingray site up the night of the reveal on 1/13/13.
GM is not the best at getting their site updated for the new model year, almost always behind.....

Yes. If GM updates the website in the next couple of weeks it will be a huge improvement/advancement for them ...This is a normal thing for them, it seems like whenever they get around to it...
