My 2017 Grand Sport Order, Buyer's Tour, and NCM Delivery

Congrats with the GS. Hopefully this helps with the loss of the other C7, I liked seeing your updates and look forward to seeing what you do with this one. At least you don't have to spend all that time coloring each stitch this time.

All but one of my Corvettes (my wife's daily drive) are covered by American Modern via the National Corvette Museum's Insurance Agency. Each Corvette on the policy is insured with an "agreed value" set by myself and the insurance company. During the first year of coverage, one can set the agreed value at the purchase price. As mods are added, the value of the car and the replacement cost of the mods can be calculated to increase the agreed value. Of course, all mods have the be surrendered to the insurance company, but my agreed value was sufficient to cover the value of the Corvette at the time of loss plus the mods that I had done. Another nice benefit in my American Modern policy is their inflation guard, which extends an additional 2% of the agreed value per quarter up to 6% total through the policy year. Because I was in the last quarter of my annual policy at the time of the loss, I will receive the agreed value plus an additional 6%. I highly recommend the NCM Agency for those that fit the usage qualification of the American Modern policy.

After almost one year of ownership I have decided that I will switch the a NCM policy in August. My annual mileage is going to be low enough to lower my premiums and I am not using the car as a DD so it qualifies. You have to prove you have other cars fully insured and this is fine as my wife and I both have another car to drive on a daily basis. You also have to indicate if you are using the car on a track or at other HPDE events. Still doing some additional research but right now I am leaning toward going with NCM. Thanks for your post as it motivated me to review my Corvette insurance options. So far my research has revealed that the NCM policy is better than both Hagerty and Grundy in terms of coverage and cost. YMMV based on driving record, location, etc.

I use NCM insurance. it's great for me car... I don't even drive the annual 5K, and it gets rolled over into the next year! and you have the agreed value, so if anything happens, you can just go get a new one!

I switched insurance on my C7 from USAA to NCM mainly for "agreed upon value" that is not depreciated. Cost is lower as well - just need to be aware of "occasional pleasure use" do's/don'ts. I had several specific "what if" questions that I emailed NCM and am saving the answers just in case

In terms of dollars invested and what it would sell for, yes. In terms of time invested, not even close. That's the sad part for me. But it's all good.
Hey, I just realized that I was at the NCM a day or two before you took delivery back in 2014. This is a pic I took of your car then. It's yours, isn't it?

Hey can someone tell me if the Grand Sport hood air dam insert is the same size as the Z51 or Z06. I thought I heard the hood was the Z51 size, but was not sure.

Congrats on your new ride.
I bought a new C7 Z06 in february and sold it this week, so a new GS is in line for me as well.
Q
1. When you order a Museum delivery option, can you choose the time of delivery ?
2. Will delivery end of sept. be realistic timeframe ?
Would be great to drive to Petit LeMans in a new car and see Ford sandbag another victory
tia

Hi! Congrats on selling the Z06 and on your plans to purchase a new GS!
1) NCM Delivery normally takes place two weeks after the car comes off the line. If there is a quality hold on your car, then it can take longer. But if everything goes as planned, it's two weeks.
2) End of September delivery could be reasonable, particularly if you order an A8. M7 production is still up in the air because they still do not know exactly when they will start building them. I'm hoping they start by early August.

Jeremy,
Great build sheet/options. She is going to be a honey.
I'm looking forward to just seeing the pics; you've got to be pumped.
