Next will be a CVT like we had in our Nissan Murano! I actually thought it was fine and we only had the car 2 years so never had the reliability issues. Probably no more than the A8!

Funny, some did not like that they they didn't hear or feel a gear shift so they have reintroduced and put in fake shift points! That's not "fake news!"

I have not seen weight of the A10 verses A8. I think they say two more gears with little weight gain, but what is the weight or each?

Also, they said it is the same size because they made the torque converter and bell housing shorter. That is probably more complicate to make work in the Corvette application where there is no bell housing and it affects the torque tube design.

Keep in mind the Camaro5 ZL1 used the 6L90, which does not fit in the C7. They had to use the 6L80 in the C7 and they couldn't use the 6L80 in the Z06 because it can't take the torque. So when they say the A10 is the same size...same size as what?

NOT IF THEY DO IT RIGHT! The problem isn't with the number of gears, it's the way the transmission is PROGRAMMED.

The problem with the A8's torque converter is NOT a software or programming problem, it's a design/engineering problem. Otherwise they would have taken care of all the issues that people are having.

Putting more gears into the same physical space is, in fact, behind the problems with the A8 TQ. If they couldn't get it right with eight gears what makes you think it will be any better with 10?

I have a2014 six speed automatic. This car is a torque monster and plenty quick. What amazes me about Corvette they like to hold stuff back to get people to trade in the old one.
Guaranteed they could have had a ten speed in 17. In a practical sense all those gears may drive you nuts trying to figure the correct gear in any given situation. I think they call it searching? Believe me when I tell you I have no problems with my LT1 and " only" six speeds. No sour grapes here. I'm just not trading when my car keeps making me happy.

Not unless an A10 is introduced later the Workbench for my 2018 shows "Transmission: M5U - Transmission, Auto 8 Speed, 8L90".
