That was an expensive mistake. And if the airbag deployed, that will be a hefty out of pocket cost to fix (plus the body damage), since I'm pretty sure insurance would not cover it.

The airbags went off. That's probably not from foam...

I was curious about that. The video did not get close enough to really tell. Thanks for clearing it up!

Geeze, give the guy a break. The car probably has an A8 and the 1-2 shift problem caused it.

Default Generalizations are never 100%....but...

When I see something like this I, perhaps because of a childhood of very modest economic means, think that probably this guy didn't pay for the car himself. Or.....he paid for it with funny money that he inherited or otherwise was given to him for little if any work. This kind of behavior is a form of conspicuous consumption. It says, in essence, look at me...I have this very expensive car ( to you little people ) but to me it's nothing at all...just a throw away trifle.

Irresponsibility is present here to the max. It's disgusting. There are places, usually oil rich nations, in which men, and boys who look like men, abuse and destroy supercars with total abandon that they purchased with petrodollars that you and I forked over at the pump.

Being older than most here I'd have to say that, "in the old days" very few people who owned vettes behaved like punks with hot camaros. Burn outs are stupid and prove nothing except that the players are idiots and fools showing off for a bunch of similar people.

If this opinion seems aimed at you because you do burnout with your new vette than consider that sometimes we get judged by our behavior and sometimes that judgment is reasonable.

Is smoking the tires ok when new rubber is needed? My friend annihilated the rears on his Camaroo when it was time for a fresh set. It was a lot of fun, for sure.

Maybe that was our fellow forum member, Tnguy, from the "how to rev your automatic while driving" thread.

Do you really think they would use foam to protect the spectators?

Nope. Manual tranny. Looked like a CAGS issue. Car refused to shift into the gear he wanted.
