And definitely not secure enough to store a pistol in it when the car is unattended or left with a valet.

Maybe you could buy another button, unplug dash button and extend wires or make your own harness to extend it too wherever you want to hide button.

Don't use radar detectors.

I don't see them much anymore either) and in order to get past the password police I wrote "This is not a password".

Add a relay, wired in-series with the switch, so the switch only works when the car is running. (the relay coil is connected to a "+12V Run" fuse)

I bet GM could easily do a "flash" of some type and make this issue go away easily. Maybe even on of the aftermarket tuners could come up with something.

I wish there were a flash to make the PDR nanny screen go away or at lease a setting that it only shows up, say, every 100 uses.

I'm thinking the easiest way to really lock it up is to just put switch in the power line to the screen switch. The new switch would only have to be on in order for the screen switch to work, and that allows one to only use the hidden new switch when one needs to use it. My favorite place to hide switches in near the seat controls. That way I can flip the switch as I get out of the car with out anyone noticing.

If its designed like any other button on any car I've ever owned, I dot't think you'll like the result. It'll just eat the black paint and leave you with an opaque white blotch where the letters were.

I make it a point not to keep anything of any value in the car. The most expensive thing i leave in the car is a pair of 50 dollar sunglasses.

Seems a bit misogynistic to me.

Never mind that if you put a red sticker on something that basically says "Don't press," The dumb-***** absolutely will press.
