Will you trade up or buy a new 2017 C7 Grand Sport?

When the C6 GS was released, the base C6 had been in production for five years, and the C6 Z06 for four years.
While some early years C6 owners opted to trade their 2005-2006-2007 in for a GS, I believe the bulk of the C6 GS sales were from C5 owners that didn't like the styling of the base C6 and didn't need(or maybe afford) the C6 Z06/ZR1. You also have to remember that a lot of early C6 purchasers had done the wide body conversion to their base C6, thus really didn't need to "upgrade" to a GS as they already had the wide body look.
Because of the difficulty of converting a base C7 into a wide body, I don't see many people converting them.
I also believe that there are C6 owners that don't care for the look of the base C7 and they will be the primary customers of the C7 GS.
A couple of years from now, I suspect that we will be seeing early year base C7 owners trading their 2014/2015 base C7 in for a GS, that are not that interested in trading their current nearly new C7 in(where a lot of them are upside down because they paid a premium to get an early year C7 combined with a 72-84 month loan and the current new C7's are heavily discounted, thus driving down the resale/trade in valve of their nearly new C7).

2014s were discounted starting January 2014, 3% and up. Many got 5% and 6% discounts, like myself, as early as Feb. 2014.
C7 prices have gone up so much in 3 years that a person that purchased a 2014 at a 3-7%% discount still paid less than someone who got an 8% -10% discount on a 2016.
The price paid and financing has nothing to do with resale value
New GS for $70k+ and used 2014s for $20K less are DIFFERENT buyers. So GS will have no impact on 2014 used C7 resale value.

The difference in the C6 and the Grand Sport C6 is far greater then the C7 and the Grand Sport C7. You would have to be a Corvette person to know the difference. I keep reading about " base" Corvettes. I have yet to see the average person not react to the sharpest generation Corvette ever built no matter what the model.

Maybe? Love my 2015 A8 Z51 but I might move up to GS. The only issue I have had with my A8 is a cold start 1 to 2 shift bump which is getting softer as I put more miles on the car. Otherwise car is flawless. Not getting any younger and my next Corvette could be the last one as the wife and I age up. Want to see it in person, get a reasonable trade-in and above all make sure Chevy has worked out the A8 issues for 2017.

I'm going to be buying the new GS because the C7 I bought last Nov 30 has been taken over by my wife if you can believe it! So she told me to order a new one. Won't have to ask me twice. My question to you is this. Is there anything that I should not be adding as an option to this new car? And is there any option I should be definitely getting on this new car? I know it is all subjective for the most parts, but there are also some no brainers to this purchase. Thanks.

The C7 Grand Sport is very close to the C7. You would have to be a car person to notice the difference. In my opinion of course.
Does that help?
What does this even mean??? Please add something to back up your thoughts.

Drive a C7 you will forget the awkward features
GS could be the most track worthy Vette ever, so I'm very interested.
I'm an outsider. Never owned a Vette or even a two seater. Looking for a sporty car for late summer delivery. GT350s and M2s are almost impossible to find, the TTRS is still a year out (and probably $70k), and although a CLA45 AMG would make sense in my snow belt city I'm not as keen on it as I was four months ago.
The C7 Z51 was on my list, but I was never a big fan of C7 styling. And it's only a two seater. But the GS got my juices flowing. Even more track worthy that the Z51, 460 hp is more than enough for me, and I think its wide body design with aero ameliorates many of the awkward features of the C7.
So the GS might be my first true sports car ever.

Now that I build one and its looks like I'd have to drop 20k or more I not sure it's worth it
