OnStar, how many members subscribe?
Wondering if the OnStar navigation is worth having/ paying the $14.99 per month subscription?
If so, when you use it, it is accurate regarding the navigation turns they program in upon verbal request?
Is there a better alternative?
If so...what is it?
Thanks,
NW

IMO, OnStar is the worst feature with C7s. The company is ethically challenged and I want nothing to do with them.

This. Use google maps on whatever phone you have, or an actual GPS.
I hate OnStar with the intensity of a thousand white hot suns. Took me months to cancel it (kept getting the run around). I finally had to block them through my credit card company and dispute charges.

Wow! 5 answers 80% against, 20% for.....still would like to hear experiences bad or good regarding Onstar.....wonder why GM doesn't improve on this plan which if run properly could be an asset to any driver...

I look at it as a cheap insurance policy (accident notification, theft tracking, etc.) and having it does provide an additional discount for my auto policy. I have had no issues with the OnStar people, XM however has been a real pain and has become even worse after the Sirius takeover.

You will mostly hear from haters. We have not had a problem except and like it OK. Just hope they fix my remote app. Getting a hardware check next.

With so many other options available Onstar is a waste of money. If you want to see how ethical they are give them your credit card info.

I warned my father as well before the "free" subscription was up on his car...
With as good as smart phones are, I have zero use for OnStar. I don't drive through Death Valley much and Verizon has pretty solid coverage.
Not a hater, just someone that thinks they're not worth it and loathes their business practices.
YMMV

Never used it enough to make it worth while. One time I used them for directions when I was lost and they tried to take me right thru the middle of a farm field telling me there was a road there. Then the took me down an unimproved gravel road for about a mile. Not a nice experience.

Not worth it
I do not think the product is worth the cost. The actual band with is very low except if you are using the wifi feature (which of course you pay for by the meg). If they would make the service reasonable cost they would retain a lot more

When my C7 was delivered 9/25/2015 i asked Onstar if i delay the 6 month trial until 4/1/2016 because my car was going to be put into storage 11/01/15 and they said NO and did not care if my car was going to sit for 5 months in my garage. I got the Android Auto update and i do not need a company that that runs their business in a basement of a shopping mall in Detroit !!!!!!
