Default Ron Fellows driving school/GM card

Got a fedex package yesterday offering free Ron Fellows 2 day experience and $500 cash plus free accommodations. Anyone else get this and take them up on the offer? Looks like it was worth $3000 for the 2 days, plus the $500 plus room included. Unfortunately I just don't have time to accept their generous offer.

Who sent the package? Sounds interesting.

GM Card, it was limited to 20 people. I just went back to work in the mortgage business so I just don't have time to go to it otherwise it would be pretty cool. I just redeemed GM points on 3 GMC denali's, two seven months ago and one a couple weeks ago. Assuming it was to people who recently used their GM points. Last one I was able to use bonus $750 over and above limit they offered on Sierra 2250 rather than normal 1500.

I wish it was so someone could use it. I think buying a new vette gets you a discount, this was actually offering free room and board and paying $500 to help offset airfare.

Even if you bought it used you can still use the discount as long as the VIN hasn't been used and it is still close the expiration date.

Sounds like one heck of an offer. From what I hear, the school is amazing.

I went and it was the best experience (well sort of) in my life. 2 nights in a condo, breakfast and lunch for 2, wife got ride alongs which blew her away, plus I got the driving school. I drove a Z51 Corvette manual (like the car I bought). Learned all sorts of things about the car, driving, PDR, etc. FANTASTIC. Great instructors. Probably got 5 hours of track time. Some was slow slalom time, one exercise was emergency breaking and steering, doing figure 8 course and and a small oval course that teaches you skills to be used later, and lots of track time. The track is a real track with a 1/4 mile straight away, many different types of turns, a nice S section, etc. I was not that good but got it up to 108 MPH before I had to make a 100 degree turn at the end. I would do it again in a second at the $1000 price. GM picks up the rest of the cost. One instructor says they go through a set of tires ever 3rd class (6 days). No wonder it would normally cost so much without the GM discount

Sounds like catch is you have to buy lots if cars in a short period of time. I think I'd find time. It's only a couple days. If I got an offer like that I'd be doing freakin carwheels.

Ditto CoasterBill's comments. Great school! I went a couple of month's ago. The Corvette is a complex car, and with all I learned, I feel I can take advantage of all that it offers.

it isn't too good to be true, it is just unfortunate timing for me. I just can't justify the 3.5 day commitment to go. I did take them up on the bonus top off I just used though. I wish they would have offered me another bonus cash on my gm points instead.

I almost threw out my letter and brochure that came from GM in a FedEx envelope. I wasn't expecting it. Just before I threw it out I opened the nicely packaged brochure/letter and the wheels started turning. From what I understand from the Ron Fellows brochure, normal price if you didn't buy a new (1 year old) Corvette is $2,500 for a Stingray/Z51 and for a Z06 it is almost $4,000. I believe both are $1,000 for course, 1 or 2 nights in condo, breakfast and lunch at the club house. According to the instructors, GM funds the extra money because they want Corvette owners to get the most out of their new cars. Funny that some students hadn't even read the owners manual, so course was good for them. Only need to buy driving shoes (I bought $50 Puma's at a local outlet mall) and they were worth it. Driving shoes are flatter then sneakers. Just remember, it is the chance of a lifetime.

THere will always be time for work, it won't go away.

Spring Mountain is a life experience you will always remember.

I would take the 2 days and go to SM.
