Default Tire Pressure

What tire pressure is everyone running on the street?
I'm using the recommended 30psi.

Has anyone experimented to see if a different pressure works better for maximum tire life?

My 2016 Coupe recommends 35 lbs so that's what I run. Drives and rides great!

Personally, I'm not going to second guess the Michelin engineers who spent thousands of hours building a tire so much superior to the Goodyear that the Corvette Racing team cut SECONDS, not just tenths of a second off lap times at tracks around the world. GM trusts them enough to switch to Mich tires for all Corvettes. I trust their educated recommendations about pressure and rotation. But that's just me.

Does anyone know the reason for the difference in recommended tire pressure between the 2014s and the 2016s. Recommended pressure for 14s is 30psi. What changed to increase it to 35? Are the tires different or what?

You should check your door sticker. The recommended tire pressure is 35psi. I am surprised that the DIC didn't warn you that the tire pressure was low.

I have a '16 Coupe with Z51, and my stated pressure is 30.

'14 Z51 30 psi. After seeing the tire wear, I think GM/Michelin were correct raising the pressure up some. Reading backwards, looks like all the Z51's are 30 psi.

You may want to try adjusting to 28 PSI to see if that improves the ride any. With run-flats, i doubt it but if you want to try a softer ride.
My door plaque says 30 PSI which seems ok for a nice street ride...

Warning... with Runflats, you need good tire pressure or if you hit a pot hole, you'll damage your rim easier.

For drag racing, you might want a lower PSI

Our '16 Coupe built Jan 26 has a door sticker showing 30 psi. We have the 19 and 20 inch wheels too.

I run 30 to 32.

I believe it's the base Stingray with 18/19 wheel combo that now carries the 35psi recommendation based on a previous thread we had on this subject. The Z51 and Z06 has remained 30 throughout the C7 model years.

That is correct: 18/19's = 35 cold

19/20's = 30 cold

Why? I have no idea.

I think it only notifies you if there is a different pressure in one of the tires. If they are all over or under-inflated there wouldn't be a message.

No, that's incorrect.
