Is Museum Delivery worth it?
We are about to order a torch Red coupe for late April early May delivery. Thinking about doing a Museum delivery with a two week road trip after. Is the extra money worth it? (Beyond seeing some cool old Vette's?
TIA

Depends. Did museum delivery with my brother, and it was a fun road trip. But treat it as a trip.
In addition to the cost, you have airfare, hotels, food, etc... its going to cost you $3-4K by the time you are done.
I'd say, you left-coasters need a trip to the Hillbilly Hilton. Nashville is roughly an hour away.... get a room in the Union Station hotel. Well worth the trip... great food, great music... fried green tomatoes, biscuits and gravy, NO Starbucks...

Agree with CETA 256.
If you haven't done it, it's a great experience.
Rather than fly, I did a 1 way car rental.
Much cheaper than plane + rental car, even considering food and hotels (I did night 2 at Mammoth Cave Park; since it is state owned, a night there is a lot less than a hotel. toured the caves the next day, then home)
Bonus: the rental car company took me to the museum; museum staff drove me over for the factory tour, then back for the museum tour and delivery.

We did it in October and would do it again. The staff was great and treated us very well. Probably had the best pre-delivery orientation you could ask for. We had a great three week trip home and saw parts of this country we may never have seen. I was able to keep a 30+ year promise to my wife when we stopped by the Grand Canyon. Yes there are some Starbucks and my wife started a collection of the Where are We mugs. Yeah, more money but a fun deviation from sitting in the car.
This doesn't include all of the things you can do like going to a distillery, driving the tail of the dragon, or stopping by the Biltmore House.
If you have the time and the money, I strongly suggest you do it.

i thought it was a great experience, something I wanted to do once. The delivery experience was second to none.
Now that I've done it, I would always include this with the purchase of a new Vette.

Museum delivery
My 2015 was purchased used so I couldn't do the new car delivery but I was able to take advantage of the Museum Experience delivery. I think the only difference that I can see was the factory guy doesn't spend as much time going over your car with you like a new car but everything else was the same. Oh, and the price was about $400.00 less. I didn't stop smiling for a week. It was so cool. Any new Vette owner should definitely do it. I was treated like a king. We did 3 laps on the track and the personal tours were fantastic, not to mention store discounts. Well worth the time and money.

It would be worth it to me as its a bucket list item I have. My problem is I'm not good at waiting for things. Purchased all my Corvettes from dealer stock.
Now, the 5k they for the engine build session is a total waste of money to me. If I'm building my own engine, shoudn't I be the one getting paid?

I am 8 hours from Bowling Green, so I will probably head up there eventually to tour the museum and factory.

I did museum delivery last October and I agree, it's worth it once if you can swing it. I also did the buyers tour, that was a really cool experience and totally recommend that. After doing both, I'd opt for the buyers tour over museum delivery, but I enjoy that stuff having worked in manufacturing for my career.
It's an awesome road trip car, so your journey back will be fun if you decide on museum delivery. Congrats!
