I have that exact after market mod..........when you pull into your dealership for an oil change and the service writer tells you your DIC needs to be 20% or less and/or they say " No Mobil 1 for you, Dexos only" you push it and....

Well, I pushed it in at idle in park. I did note any change in exhaust sound.
I'm not sure I want to push the button while driving.
Thank you,
Al V.

Pop the console up and see where the wires are going, or take a look at your fuse box and see if anything is going on there. It may give you an indication of what it was put in for.

The button is clear as day. It must be an after market add on for something. Did you try to push it? Try it and see what happens.

I think someone took the top cover off.
It used to look like this:

I stand corrected. I did not note any change in the exhaust sound. Just drove my topless 66 to upholstery shop 1.5 hours away. New Harts top going on. Temp was 27*. So I,m a little tired.
Thank you,
Al V.

ok, the car was purchased, inherited or a gift from someone.

if purchased from a dealer, he can possibly put you in touch with the previous owner, or at least tell you his name and location.

i commend your fortitude of the 1.5 hour drive in 27 degree weather with no top.

Looks like previous owner alos changeout the shift **** - note there is not a gear pattern printed on it and it it concave, not convex.

Dealer has records; while they likely will not tell you how to contact the previous owner, they may be willing to act as proxy and ask the question for you.

Man I could use a good looking button like that one,
but ...Dayum does any one know what it does yet?
Could it be a z51conversation activation switch?
