Would you be more or less likely to buy a Corvette from a salesman who owns one?

I'm curious to know everyone's thoughts on this topic. I feel that I sell more Stingrays / Corvettes than anyone in my state because I've owned a C5 Z06 for 8 years, and am extremely passionate about them.
Edited to say: Assuming you're going to get the same deal, and assuming that the salesman who owns one is an expert about the car.

Wouldn't make any difference to me at all.

Totally irrelevant to me if my sales guy drives a vette. Pricing is the only thing that matters besides allocation and the two usually go hand in hand

Wouldn't make a difference to me if the salesman owns a Corvette or not. I never asked my salesperson if he owned a Corvette when buying my C7. I didn't care.
Although you own a Corvette, it is not a C7 just a C5. If you are a highly successful salesperson, tops in your state as you say, I would think you would own the newest model the C7, in order to be passionate about the brand, to impress potential buyers.
Consumers are price savvy. They want the best the deal and could care less if the salesperson owns the same brand as they sell. The Corvette is not a status symbol, it's just a cool car; especially the C7.
By owning a Corvette, can you compete with the big time players like Kerbeck, MacMulkin and others? Do you ever follow up with the customers who bought a Corvette other top salesman don't do this. They simply move on to the next customer. It's all about volume in your business.
If you owned a 1990 Ford, people wouldn't care either and you probably wouldn't lose a sale because of it.

I don't care if the salesperson owns a Vette or not. As long as they know the product and give an acceptable price, I'm good to go.

For me it is all about the deal.

I think the point is "if they know the product." Over the years we've shopped and bought several Corvettes when new and there's nothing more annoying to me than a salesman trying to sell me on the features of a car that, in all honesty, you would be able to educate him on. Most people on the Corvette Forum know 99% more about these cars than the typical off the street buyer, but that's just my opinion. I don't need a salesman selling me on one, but having a one on one with someone who really knows the car helps make the purchase process a little less distasteful. I give the OP a

If I had a choice between a salesman that owns a Corvette or a salesman who doesn't own a Corvette I would take the salesman who owns a Corvette but he still better make a deal that I am happy with or it is irrelevant !

If he can sell it to me cheaper than the top dealers here on the forum, I don't care if he drives a Yugo and dresses in lime green polyester....

It seems too may sales people at Chevy dealers don't know the difference between a Corvette and a Chevette. Someone who owns and drives one may be more knowledgable about the car, but not automatically.

Would it be safe to say if the salesman owns a Corvette he's either closing a lot of deals by working hard for his customers or he has a sales pitch that is irresistible resulting in lots of commission?

I agree with the prior posts that it doesn't make a difference to me if the sales person owns a corvette or not. I just purchased a new C7 three weeks ago and the sales person who sold me the car doesn't own a corvette. As many have said its all about the price.
