Looking for advise....CF Side Skirts and Splitter for Base C7
Just ordered a '16 2LT Base Coupe and want to add a Carbon Fiber Front Splitter, without winglets, as well as Z06 Style Side Skirts. I will have both front and rear splash guards on, so I hope they don't interfere with the side skirts.
I don't want to overlook anything out there, but need to keep the $$$ reasonable. Here's what I've found......
PLEASE let me know if you know of others to check out.
C7 Carbon. I'm looking at their GTX front Splitter without Winglets
Model: C7-CCC7-GTX-FS2-CF and the Z06 style side skirts
Model: C7-CCC7-GTX-SS-CF I like the idea with these that I don't have to drill holes into the rockers to attach the skirts.
RPI Designs: Side Skirts, Z06 Style CF Model # C7-CF006
Front Splitter: Model # C7-CF005 WITH the optional Wheel Deflectors.... Really like this option as I do not care for the "Winglets".
Not real thrilled that I have to drill holes into the rockers to mount the side skirts.
Any other brands to consider that are Carbon Fiber, and reasonable? I've seen a few others at much higher cost.
Anyone have either of the two choices I've considered above ???
thanks in advance,
Richard

Anybody have the C7 Carbon front GTX splitter and side skirts?
If so, are you happy with the quality, and fit?

I have a 2015 1LT and have installed the C7Carbon GTX Z06 Style Side Skirts. Mine are the fiberglass version (NOT Carbon Fiber).
The C7Carbon GTX side skirts are a perfect fit. Easy install in one hour or less. My price was under $400 delivered to my door from San Diego. The fiberglass skirts require painting and did so myself using Carbon Mist Metallic paint.
The fit and finish is excellent. I also have the OEM GM Splash Guards installed which I painted myself to match the body color.
Here's a few image of my car and the C7Carbon GTX skirts.

Anyone using the RPI Design skirts and splitter? Pics, comments ???
I like the additional front wheel deflector option they offer, but not thrilled about having to drill holes in the rocker panels to install the side skirts...

I can't speak about RPI, I went with ACS skirts, but I did drill to install. The holes are both really low and on the curve of the rocker panel more under the car. You would have to be on a knee and looking for them to spot them.
Plus, I'm not ever going to run without them, if I screw one up, I'd just replace it. That's how I'll sell or trade my car in too, with skirts. That made it a non-issue for me.

So when you have to drill into the rocker panels, is it JUST through fiberglass, or into the frame rail too? Rivets, or screws to install???

The frame is unavoidable in this area, as it is just there. As you can see, the C7carbon comes with pre-drilled holes, just avoid the area marked in the photo. I have updated the photo with text of where to avoid drilling.
I drilled about 5 additional 5/16th holes into the bottom of the rockers/resin and used about 5 plastic scrivets. Otherwise there are 5 washer nuts already installed into the rockers by GM to hold the rockers in place. 2 in the rear and 3 in the front. Easy to remove and they match the C7carbon pre-drilled holes perfectly.
Hope this info and images help.

On the C7Carbon side skirts you need to avoid about 15" near the rear end of the side skirt as the aluminum frame is in this area. I have attached a photo or image of the area to avoid. I drilled into mine, stopped and then just drilled into the resin panels under the rockers. They hold very well and are very secure.

It's just through the composite material, no frame. ACS supplies pop rivets with their kit, but through the forum here I found that people were using plastic scrivets for the install. The scrivets are removeable if need be vs. having to drill the rivets out.
If you search, there are some people that have successfully installed the skirts with no drilling or tape, they used some sort of u-bolts or clamps, something like that. I just drilled because it was easier.

Now, all I need to do is wait for our car to come in..... Order was just accepted by the factory this morning. Likely a Mid Feb delivery date. Might just be on my B day

I decided to drill the extra holes and use the scrivets as mentioned for an extra secure fit and make sure the edge of the side skirts attached well to the edge of the rockers without any gaps.
As noted above, some used the 3M VHI Double Tape to secure the area in between the pre-drilled holes and the OEM GM screws that are easy to remove and replace.
The decision of what to use to secure the side skirts is strictly an owner decision.
In some instances, there has been some mention when using the 3m tape that the thickness of the tape leaves a small gap and dirt and debris can get into the gap.
Never-the-less the C7Carbon side skirts have been quite popular with C7 owner since my first review and pricing of the C7Carbon GTX product.
The Z06 Style side skirts are sold by other CF vendors, but C7Carbon was the lowest price point I found in my research. When I bought mine in early 2015 the price was very hard to beat and no other vendor even came close on the price.

Lots of great advice and ideas on this thread and others on this subject. Here is what I did:
RPI skirts in carbon flash. I went carbon flash because it matches my mirrors and spoiler - looks like you have the carbon flash colors too? http://www.rpidesigns.com/shop/item.aspx?itemid=4943 I drilled mine as indicated by nmvettec7. Not a big deal at all using the scrivets mentioned in this thread. I know that many have used the tape with good results too, but I believe there is just a bit of a gap when using the tape - not certain about that.
Splitter: went with the GM splitter - nice cost. Painted it CF myself, but the color of the plastic is very close to CF anyway. http://www.gmpartsdirect.com/oe-gm/22922352 Easy to install yourself.
Splash guards: http://www.gmpartsdirect.com/oe-gm/22935635 http://www.gmpartsdirect.com/oe-gm/22935639 GM parts - can put them all on in less than 10 minutes.
Good luck with your new C7! They're a great car.
BTW: hisvett; DickieDoo' nmvettec7: love what you've done - your cars look great!
