Default Window tint % and would you go darker or lighter now

Not sure what % I had on my C6 which was cyber grey or gray or greigh or however you spell it, LOL.
But I think I might have gone a touch lighter because at night it was a little too dark in the blind spots. Don't think I went deep on the % but cant remember?
So, heres my question? Would you go lighter on "YOUR" C7 or darker? And if you would post a pic of your car and let me know your %. Thxs so much fella's! Be safe, paul

Heres my C6 which was great in the day but at night just a little too dark

I went with a light tint. Don't remember what %. I just told the place I wanted a tint that wouldn't get me a ticket every time I took the car out.

I have been getting window tint on my car for years. I have dark (5%) and lighter 35% tint. I prefer lighter tint, not because its easier to see out of. but because i think it looks better.

I would say the most popular tint percentage across the board is either 20% or 35%. I feel 20% is to dark, and 35% is prefect.

I went with Llumar ceramic tint; 15% on the back and rear quarters and 30% on the passenger and drivers side.

We're limits in Texas by law. So the darkest I can get.

Dam that looks good!

I'm with you I always get my windshield done in 50% too. Doesnt change the outward visibility and cuts down on glare. Also preserves your interior and keeps the UV Florida sun off it which literally just destroys plastic, & leather.

Also interesting to note I used to get more tickets with that stupid 1/4 strip on the top of my windshield than with having the whole thing done in 50%. They just can't tell unless theyre really looking for it.

Also interesting to note I live in Coral Springs, FL and a lot of the cops get their cruiser windshields tinited too to help keep them cool. Against policy I'm sure but the tint guy told me they bring them when they're off duty and pay him cash out of their own pockets. Fine with me as long as they don't harass me about mine and pay themselves..

Lol.. I do what I want with my car. (Within reason)

For the record I always had 5% on everything but the windshield which I do at 50, but for the C7 And my new Jetta I did 20% because the 5% actually is too hard to see out of at night.

I don't recall the percentage either. But, it's dark. I've been running "limo tint" on my vehicles ever since high school.

I put on 35 on the side and 20 on the rear. If I had to do it again I'd do 35 all around. 20 makes it hard for my weak old eyes to see out the back at night.
Also, since the windows are already "Tinted" at 70 from the factory, anything you put on has to be adjusted by 70% . So 35 is really closer to 25 and 20 is closer to 15...

On C6 I had 35% all around (but not on windshield). That was too dark at night for me. So got 50% all around on my C7. Like that less in daylight, but more at night. That works for me.

Just had mine done last weekend. 35% main sides and 20% on rear sides and hatch window. Tint guy said there is a 70% tint from the factory so combined with the 35% made it closer to a 20%.

I like Llumar Air80. It's not dark but keeps out the UV and heat from the sun that you feel baking your arm when on the road.

I had my daily driver's windows tinted last spring - went with 35% on the front sides (legal limit in MO) and 18% on the back sides and rear window. To me, it is just right and no problems seeing out of the car at night.

I go with the darkest tint (and on only the windows) allowed by your state's law.

Both of my Vette have 20 on the sides and rear windows. That percent work great during the day to reduce interior temps, and looks good. It also works alright at night. Personally, I would not want the tint any darker that 20 at night.

20% window tint on side windows and rear hatch window. Price was $120.00 for all work completed here in New Mexico. Perfect installation.

Here are few images at different angles.
