Use something that will bring out the metallic.

Pinnacle Souveran. It's by far the best wax I've ever used. It's expensive but well worth the price.

Liquid, spray, paste, carauba?
Cost is not a concern - I just want to start out right - then continue..
You guys have experience with the cars. I had a solstice I used a synthetic wax.... Then spray quick detailer... Need advice please.

Pinnacle Souveran has many types also.

couple of suggestion. Use a clay bar once a year but they are cheap so use it once and throw it away. Worst thing that can happen is a dirty clay bar that has something in it and scratches your paint.

This will sound kinda dumb but I don't ever even wash my car, I use a California duster and meguiars detail spray after that to do a simple wash and go. I don't like seeing my rotors go rusty so water is not my thing!
Clean the car if you want and clay bar it using a lot of detail spray while you go along to help the clay bar glide. Then try meguiars "NXT tech wax 2.0" you can get it at wallmart for cheap and its very good stuff. that what I have done on my last 2 cyber grey vettes. Detail spray is just awesome. Simple quik way to shine up your ride. paul

I just bought the zaino show car kit has everything you need 2 kinds of polish, detailer, clay bar, applicator pads and car wash. Its a bit expensive but so many people swear by their products. If you need some good quality towels for drying and detailing check autogeek.

After clay bar I would use Meguiars #7 Professional Series Polish and then apply Meguiars #26 Professional Series Premium Carnauba Wax. I have Laguna Blue and this combination really brings out the metallic finish. You can get both at PepBoys or AutoZone.

In order to determine the "best wax" - you need to define how your C7 will be used, how it will be stored and how much work you are willing to do to keep it as close to car show clean and shinny as possible.

For me, nothing create a deep shine like a top coat of carnuba paste or liquid wax, but on a daily driver stored outside, you will be waxing it every 2-4 weeks if you want to keep that shine; while as a never sees rain weekend only low mileage garage queen, that wax will easily last 6-9 months.

R U sure your NEW vette need clay bar. I wouldn't think a new car would need clay bar but U would know better than me. Run your hand over it and it you feel anything rough then it needs it but if it is smooth as a baby's bottom it doesn't need it. I use Chadwicks tripple play, he is a forum member/sponsor. Best product I ever used, his claim is to never use water on a car just use his product with microfiber towels. Check his web site out. Chadwick's tripple play.

It sat at the dealer for months- best way TO CLEAN UP is to clay bar and start out with the correct protection after that. Once you clay bar you will always. I do my Jeep Grand Cherokee 2 times a year, I also did the same with my Silverado.
I will most likely start this next Saturday AM - so recommend on.. THANKS

I AM IN California and will be driving my Vette a lot, so many waxes and lots of up keep....
I am just happy to be healthy and able to do it...... Cheers

Most of you guys are missing the secret step: Use whatever you want as an LSP (last step product) but FINE POLISH first. Either by hand, or machine.Tons of good ones out there, meguires 205 or menzerna 4500 are about at the top for me, in this product class.

Or at least , the paint prep product your fav mfr makes, for their last step product you use.
