Good suggestions - I need to do this for all the CDs I have in my DD.

LuckyGuy, like you I'm a bit technologically challenged. Get one of your kids, or grandkids, or even the next door neighbors 12 year old to help you. It's simply work for them.

HAHAHA...My parents feel the same way so once their Sirius/XM expires I get to go to their house and show them how to burn CD's to thumb drive so they can have music.

I felt the same way at first. Couldn't believe no cd player. Then I decided to give the USB drive a shot and have never looked back. Most of my cd's I purchased got autoripped on Amazon. Therefore, transferring them to the USB was a snap. The others were pretty easy putting them onto the computer and then transferring them. Love just popping in the stick (keep it clean people) and listening to my collection via shuffle.

No .. Media Player won't imbed the album art into each song (where it needs to be to show up on the screen in the C7) but it DOES put it into the same folder as the songs ... It (the album art) can then be easily added to the MP3 files using a 3rd party utility like Mp3Tag (which is free).

if possible try not to use mp3 file format. The sound quality is really poor.
Instead, try the apple lossless format, (better but still not great), or WAV format. (Not supported by Chevy...) yes the file size is larger, but it sounds way better...

...is a CD player! Am I the only one who wishes the C7 had a CD player? Does anyone have a good reason why GM dropped it from this car?
I'm a diehard BlackBerry user so no Apple iPhone or iPod in my life. I really enjoy being able to slip a CD into the radio like I do in my '15 Tahoe. I'm not one for "shuffle" type music or random playlists.
Do any of you have any suggestions how I can, somewhat easily, transform my extensive CD collection into an organized and accessible digital format that can be played in my C7? I'm not super techie so don't holdback on any advice that you may think is too basic!
Many thanks!

In the very early 60's some Chrysler products had a record player mounted under the middle of the dash that played 45 RPM records. Then came 4 track players. Then 8 track players. Then cassette players.
Then CD players. I guess it's called the advancement of technology. I have drawers full of cassettes and CD's. They will all end up in the trash. I am so glad that the C7 does not offer a CD player. (My first car without one). This forces me to advance my technological knowledge. Because of bluetooth, I have hundreds of songs on my iphone (Spotifly) and 499 songs on a flash drive. No more music limits with CD's.

Here you go:
Amazon.com: External USB DVD/CD: Computers & Accessories
Plug that into the center console and bring that big box of cd's with you!

Lol, no I haven't. I went digital with everything a while ago. In theory, this should work, but that doesn't really mean anything. It's only $14 so if you're hell bent on bringing your CDs it might be worth a shot.
Of course you'd be way better off spending a little more money and getting this:
Then you can put a bunch of music on it, plug it in the cubby and forget about it.

Safety Car
My last car had a CD player, but I can't remember the last time I used it. Even my wife, who isn't the most tech savvy person, hasn't touched the CD player in her Honda. Instead of 6 CDs at a time, we can get 50 or 100 or more, on an iPod or USB stick. Might as well use an 8 track as a CD any more.
Saying you won't use an iPod for music because you use a Blackberry phone is, IMHO, more than silly. Actually, brand loyalty of any kind is pretty silly when it leads one to use old technology. But if your brand loyalty goes that far, spend $10 on a USB stick as others have suggested.

So I spent a few hours last night copying CDs onto my PC using Windows Media Player. That part was no problem. Downloaded the album art - again no problem. Copied the albums onto a USB stick - no problem. Popped the USB stick into the Stingray and a song started playing. Now here's the problem. The songs are all listed in reverse alphabetical order - there is an alphabet on the far left of the Stingray radio screen going vertically from Z to A. What I would like is to have the music organized by album so that I can hear the album in its entirety like I would using a CD player.
Can anyone help me here? Those who can only post negativity please go and enjoy your C7s!

I borrow audio books from the local library and like to play them while I'm driving. It takes your mind off the bumper to bumper traffic in your commute and makes the whole trip easier on the nerves.
The audio books are only available (at this library anyway) on CD's. They play great in my 2008 ZO6 but I really miss them when I drive my wife's C7. There may be a way to convert the audio books from CD and put them on a jump drive but since they are library loaners I really have no desire to do that.
I would have paid extra to have a CD added to my wife's car by the factory had it been an available option. Even a single CD drive would be OK.
