I live in a more 'affluent' area of Seattle (Bellevue wa), condo that I own, but no my parking is my own spot and covered, but not a typical garage that closes if you will. Didn't call police, called insurance, went to their preferred collision center, total estimate = 3150!! Thankfully my deductible is only 250, but still... They said they haven't dealt with something like this in the sense of the generation/newness of the car so they wanna take up to 10 days. Said roof will have to be new and ordered from Chevy. I'm not so upset at it all but more so at the inconvenience of going in and just 'dealing' with it.
... I am specing out a Z06 though

Sorry to see! Hope your insurance covers it and the cops find the dumb *** that did this. Unfortunately the liberal laws protecting the criminals will let this jerk get off with no punishment.
Life was a lot better when the police were respected, folks respected private property and a the cops would make sure the hoodlums were caught and the courts made them pay for damages. Maybe we will get a new Leader in the white house that believes in law and order.

Damn, that just sucks big time. Best of luck with your insurance company and sure as heck hope the police can somehow find out who did this and prosecute them.

Expect this to happen again...they got away with it once, they will come back after you get the car fixed. Probably a young punk...
If you have covered parking, there is probably an easy way to attach a high quality game camera nearby (on the covered structure) and out of sight.
There are also wireless surveillance cameras that can be connected to your home wifi...not sure that would be a viable alternative given the physical distance your car is parked from your actual wifi router...just a thought.
I get you can't use deadly force to defend property, therefore, would love to see the perp caught and have a hammer taken to their hands...like in the scene from "Casino"...

The threat of vandalism like this is the reason I seldom park my C7 out of site and never overnight except in my garage. Pathetic commentary on today's society by a few.
Back in the '60s when I owned a '65 C2 I parked that DD anywhere anytime without so much as a fingerprint placed on it. Even parked it overnight on a NY Manhattan street without incident. Today my C7 would be totally striped or more likely gone.

I know this won't make you feel better but sometimes hearing you aren't alone helps.
Last Saturday morning stopped to grab a coffee parked the Z away from everything - when I came out walked around the passenger side to grab something and noticed some ******* backed into the car cracking the fender flare and scratching the bumper cover.
I must have stood there motionless for 5 minutes as I couldn't believe my eyes.
Of course the person didn't hang around - which looking back its probably better as I'd still be in jail I'm sure.
1600 in damage - get the car back tomorrow morning
I feel ya.

Think the worst, they could have keyed both doors, hood and lift gate. I would definitely make a police report and if it happens again, you will have this incident documented. Years ago I had to park my car outside and after three car covers were removed from my car without my permission, my insurance would not pay for the last car cover. If you know any kids in the area, I would ask them who did this and if they don't know, ask them to try to find out. Someone will be bragging about this vandalism.

You need to file a report with the police so that you document the situation and have a record for future reference. Who knows if they'll ever catch the jerks that did something like this but you never know. Good luck with getting the repairs made.
