Anyone Regret Dumping their C6 for a C7?

Went from a C6 Convert to a C7 Convert and my only disappointment is the NPP exhaust on the C7 being controlled by the AFM system. Fortunately it can be fixed, otherwise I love the car.

I sold my 08 C6 vert for a 14 C7 Z51 A6, I put 10k trouble free miles on and traded it for a 15 A8 Z06. I now have 7k trouble free miles on it.
Which ever model C7 you decide on definitely get the MRC suspension, it gives the C7 multiple personalities from a soft riding highway cruiser to a very competent track star.
Buy one you won't regret it.

My wife and I are on the fence about consolidating our two 2006 C6's for one new A8 2016 C7 convertible. My wife's car is an A6 Victory Red/Black/Black base convertible and my car is a Machine Silver/Black&Titanium Z06 2LZ. Both cars have incredibly low miles and are in pristine condition. Your feedback would be most appreciated.

Gee whiz, I trust my "obsolete" C6 Z06 on long road trips. It hasn't failed me once. 2,500+ miles to new England, 3,500 miles to the Smokey mountains(Tail of the Dragon, Blue Ridge Parkway, etc), 2,700 mile trip to Colorado, 3,500 mile trip to Michigan UP, 6400 mile trip to CA, OR & WA, 3400 mile trip to CO, AZ & UT, 1600 mile trip to Natchez and Bowling Green, several 1,000 mil trips to bowling Green.
And I have driven my C6 on Route 66 from St Louis to California, without it breaking down on me.
My next trip, in my "crappy" C6 Z06, will be to Glacier NP, then tour the seven Canadian National Parks in the Canadian Rockies, then over to Seattle and than return back home. That should add up to some miles and I'm not afraid of my "crappy" C6 Z06 breaking down on me.
Oh, and on all those road trips, there were also plenty of C5's and C6's that made those trips without failing.
Hell, even about 15 years ago, I drove my 64 Vette(it was 37 years old at that time) on a 2100 mile road trip, and it didn't fail me.
I know that my friend would not set off on a road trip in his 2015 C7 Z51 because of the failures he has had with his A8. His wife refuses to drive the car around town.

This was only my opinion as I stated, and does not apply across the board to everybody. I know people who traveled 66 from start to finish in a C1 and C2 with no issues at all along the way. All I am saying is for my own perspective of buying a first version of a new generation car and I feel this car fits MY OWN lifestyle much better then all others. In fairness, I did not explain fully, I have owned every generation but the C6 so I have no experience with your generation, but I am sure its a great car. Again NOT flaming your generation or other generations, but this was MY OWN HUMBLE OPINION, not a flame to you or other generations..so please take it the it was intended, my opinion with its basis on my own previous experiences owns seven other Corvettes.
I do take issue with you putting words in my mouth, I NEVER STATED YOUR CAR OR OTHERS WERE CRAPPY, these are your words...FYI I owned a C5 and NEVER had an issue with it and drove on my long trips, but there were issues with this car from seat frames, to oi issues, to lockups on the columns, that made you ponder. EVERY generation has their issues, however I think the C7 has less then the past. THIS IS MY PERSPECTIVE. just wanted to make that clear.
Sorry to hear about your friend and his wife, I am sure they will sort out the issues and it will be very reliable, I think I can safely say the problems with the car and reliability are more of a minority in the C7 world then a majority of the C7 on the road. I am sure they will work out the issues, and the C7 will be a great car his wife will love driving.
Best of luck, and actually glad you are passionate about your Corvette and its performance, nice to hear this for all owners. I am very impressed with all the travel you do across the US with you Z06 and hope to emulate your travels soon..but please don't quote words on my statements that I did not say, that is not what the spirit of this forum is about, its about opinions, sharing knowledge, and keeping it light. Thank you.
Best of Luck,
Cheers,
Collin

I have no regrets keeping my 2013 ZR1 because there were only around 483 built, it doesn't have all the fancy electronics like the C7 but do you really need it ? A recent study said that if you did not use certain features built into a car chances are they will never be used. Our C7 was a great car until the problems started and then the enthusiasm died as more problems occurred even though it is a great looking car. Corvette has to do something drastic because the competition is pulling way ahead with their future cars. If they do come out with something new where will that leave the current C7 owners, will they have the same opinions comparing the old C7 to a new redesigned C7 or C8.

I absolutely loved my 08 A6, bought it new and had it 6 years before selling it to a friend... I never expected my 15 A8 ZF1 cp. to be better than the C6 in every single way...but it is...

I didn't vote as I kept one of my C6s when I got my C7. Still have the 6 and very much enjoy driving it - altho in all fairness it's a pretty fun variant of the 6s. I actually prefer the instrumentation on the 6; it's easier to read quickly at a glance (maybe I'm just more used to it), altho the HUD is better on the 7.
They drive differently, and it's fun having one of each. So, OP, if you can swing the deal and keep your C6Z, it would make for a fun stable-mate to the 7.

No way! My C6 had paint runs on both doors. No idea how it got though QC. Maybe because you only notice when the car is up in the air or your on the ground.
Seats sucked and made all kinds of noises from behind the dash.
I could also not get the "bang for the buck" from a mod perspective. I could not have 700 RWHP for the same money with an LS3 that I got with the LT1. Forged crank and rods are great. The LT1 is a great engine for serious mods. If only it had forged pistons it would be perfect.
The C7 is better in every way than the C6 in my opinion.

I am on Corvette number 5 2015 A8,3LT,Z51. Prior years owned were (62,74,98,11) and loved them all. I'm not one who chases the latest and greatest in things but read everything I could find about C7 and felt that the upgrades were worth moving from C6 to C7. No regrets.

Wish I still had my 2012 z06 instead of this pinball machine. Now if I had the Z06 instead of the Z51 I know I would like it better.

No regrets
Our C6 was very special to me for it was Museum Delivered and for nearly eight years was a very good car. Probably the best kept car we ever said "good-by" to.
After having the C7 for one day and 67 miles, absolutely no regrets. This thing is more than awesome; an absolutely incredible machine!
