My Callaway SC627 is HERE!

Just a thought to consider changing the stock black hood insert to a color keyed one like I did on my blade silver. Then you'll have just the black of the supercharger instead of the two black areas on the hood. I can e-mail you a PIC of what my hood looks like. Sweet ride.

Great piece, though. I highly recommend it. I can't quite compare it to other units since I don't really have any experience with other short throw shifters, so take what I say with a grain of salt.
I just think it feels nice and SOLID.

Sweet ride! I'm right behind you, I should have mine this weekend. The bolts won't bother me.
I'll tell ya, whoever came up with the idea to sign those covers is a pretty bright fellow
Don't forget to donate to St Jude!

But the SC627 acts like it was meant to have this power, like Tadge engineered it this way! It's incredible - the power comes on incrementally in low gears so you don't roast the tires *unless you want to* so it's not like you're driving an unruly, bucking beast.
I mean, this car is the best car I've ever owned, driven, everything. I kinda wonder what the SC757 is like because the 627 is downright docile in normal situations, but in higher gears, where the LT1 used to feel like it was running out of power, it's like the supercharger is there to prop it up and get it back in the power band.
I just can't believe how good this car is.

I'll be honest with you, I was a little afraid that getting into the SC627 was going to completely throw off the dynamics of the car because I got to drive it for about a month straight stock. I put about 1,000 miles on the car and absolutely loved it - it was miles above my old C6's.

Awesome car if you've got the cash. I wanted to have my car done by them, but then realized the $18,000 price tag was essentially for the supercharger and a few emblems. Price goes up to well over $25,000 if you get the optional items. Seems like the Edelbrock or Magnuson superchargers might be a more economical option in the $7,000 to $8,000 price range for very close to the same horse power. Definitely paying for the name. Again, awesome car, awesome company, just too pricey for me.

Plus, truth be told, I've wanted a Callaway since I was about 10 years old, basically since the Aerobody Turbo/Speedster/Sledgehammer days. Owning this car is the realization of a dream for me, and while this is my 5th Corvette, this one is truly special for me. The only other one I've had that even compares is my old '90 ZR-1 - again, a car that I wanted as a kid.
As for the car itself, I got a smoking deal on a 137-mile CPO car, so I basically got into a 2LT Z51 Callaway for roughly the price of a loaded 3LT Z51 car, so the choice was obvious for me.
It is relatively pricey, but for me, getting into this car is/was/will be worth every single penny.
