Repair front bumper

Had a piece of recap tire get flipped up off the highway surface and put a 4 inch long by 1/4 inch deep gash in my front bumper. Did my homework, spoke to guys in my corvette club and even called a local dealer to get a recommended repair shop.
All went well and the car came back as good as new.
And on the upside, since they needed to remove the bumper, I purchased a Z06 grill online and they installed it free.
Also ask for some of the paint they use so you can do touch up on any little chips in the future and everything will match
PS It only hurts for a little while.

Had some kind of special machine they described as a plastic welder. The also said that they 'hot patch' it from the back, much like repairing a tire.
Whatever the front fill is it did a great job 'cause I can't even find the spot.
I'm very pleased with their work.

A body shop will remove the front bumper cover. Most of what you see can be heated at pushed out. the remainder of the low area will be filled and feathered with a 2 part urethane bumper repair material. Can be spot painted and clear coated down low so the the rest of the bumper cover is untouched. Maybe 8 hrs labor @ 55 per hr plus 250 for material.

I think a good body shop can repair that damage without too much trouble. I had one repair a small split on my front fascia years ago and it still looks like a new fascia.

Little heat from a hair dryer or heat gun might pop it out. Definitely will have to be sanded because of the cracked paint and re-sprayed but doesn't look too bad.
Sorry it happened but a good shop will make it look like it was never there.
