Whoever designed the placement of the rear hatch button should be fired.
Nearly a year in, and I still hit the damn thing with my knee 30-40% of the time entering or exiting. I guess they envisioned only people under 6' would be driving (I'm 6'4").

I manage to miss it mostly now but very much agree its in a very poorly designed location.

Are you actually hitting the hatch button or the pointy part of the dash that bashes into your knee? I'm only 5'8" and after hitting that point about 100 times with me knee, I got rid of my 1LT and got a 2LT with memory seats. An absolute poor design which I'll pass along to the GM engineers at Carlisle next week.

Must be the entry technique. I know several people 6'+ (I'm 5'10") who've never had this issue. Others bump into it on a daily basis. I've never experienced it, but maybe I'm just lucky. Left thigh pain from the seat is another story all together.

One of the venders will come out with a flip cover for $175 or so and your problem is solved. You may be able to find something on line without Corvette on it for a couple $ or find/make a solution and become a forum vender as you are not the only one. I did it on the C6 but adapted a bit and learned to avoid it even on the C7.

At 6'6", I have never had a problem fitting into Corvettes (not even into my old C4's) but that damn button has a freaking homing signal for my knee. What designer thought it was a good idea to place it there?
My salesman made the joke that Chevrolet seems to think that Americans are getting smaller because the C5, C6 and C7 interiors have been progressively moving in on us. But that button really is one annoying thing I would change in a heartbeat.

It's really quite simple all it needs is to be recessed. Im shocked that the aftermarket has not designed a new switch.

I have never come close to hitting the button - but I'm a short 5'11"

Who the H#LL designed the seats anyway? My left thigh rides on the bolster all the time. Find myself twisting in the seat to find a position that doesn't have my left thigh "riding the ridge." GM if you're listening: HOW ABOUT WIDENING THE SEAT BASE, PLEASE!!!"

Me too. Most of the time I forget the button is even there. I'm 6' 3", 210, 36 inch inseam. And I'm lucky enough that my dimensions don't line up with that button I guess, never hit it once. But then the left bolster doesn't bother me either, unlike a lot of others have reported.

No problem. You would think you would learn how to enter and exit without hitting the release button after doing so a few times. But as always GM is at fault let's call for yet another redesign.

I put my right foot in the front of the foot well, then hold the steering wheel and sit down over and into the seat with my left leg still outside the car..
Then lift the left leg in... not even close to the button.
