Default So this guy in a new Mustang.....

So I pull up behind a new mustang GT at a light. And get a thumbs up from the driver from out the window. So I pull alongside after the light and he yell's to me how much he likes my car. I return the same.

Funny how the first person to compliment the car......is a mustang owner.

Which I think is great. None of that my car is better than yours crap (like many that love their car exhibit).
I have an appreciation myself for anyone driving a kick *** car. Was nice to see the love coming from a non vette owner.

And I have passed a few vettes so far. no acknowledgement. haha

Default So this guy in a new Mustang.....

This may be hard for some to understand, but there are people who are car enthusiasts and appreciate all kinds of different cars. Weird huh?

I had to go check up on my company truck (F150) at the Ford Dealer, as I drove my Z06 thru the lot you could tell all the (RICHARDS) there by the way they looked the other way when noticing my vette. The real Car Guys and some sales came over and wanted a First hand look at it, I even had to pop the hood on it for a couple of the onlookers & sales guys. I was proud to show her off.

Had a similar experience as the OP. It's a real ice breaker when I tell them my wife owns a vert Mustang as her seasonal car - that always gets a smile from a 'Stang owner.

Default So this guy in a new Mustang.....

My best friend has a brand new Roush S2 Mustang with the 6 Speed manual, black like my C7. The car is great, sounds awesome, looks bad ***, drives great, tons of power, sweet shifter, awesome brakes and actual passenger room. He says the same about my C7 (except the passenger room, more like an F-16 cockpit!). But that car fits him, mine fits me. Car guys love cool cars, regardless of brand. Doesn't mean I don't jibe him about Fords whenever I can

Me too. Just because I chose to own the best one, doesn't mean I can't appreciate others.

I remember pulling into a supermarket parking lot around six years ago in my 997S. A couple of teenagers came over to talk to me about my car and after about five minutes, I asked them about their highly modified Honda Civic. Although it wasn't the kid of car that I would buy, it was apparent that they had spent a lot of time modifying it and were eager to give me a rundown of what they had done. To be honest I got a great deal of pleasure talking with these kids who were so happy to share what they had done with their Civic. What the teenagers lacked in money, they more than made up with in enthusiasm.

So you can count me in the car enthusiast group, who appreciate all performance cars, regardless of their manufacturer. And just as important as the cars are the fellow enthusiasts who own those cars.

IMO, a true car enthusiast will appreciate a variety of cars, not just one model exclusively. And it's always nice to get a compliment from another car owner.

Glad to hear the story OP!

I will say this, the guys at the Mustang forums occasionally sh*t talk Corvettes. 1 guy said the C6 Z06 "sucks" because it has "outdated tech" and someone said the Stingray isn't worth buying since his stock Mustang GT "kept up" with a Stingray.

model or brand......those types of people are the worst, you either dig cars or you don't.
