Default My info screen went black and none of the controls worked..wth?

I get in my car and a song is playing but no screen info and the ***** don't work either. The screen would come up and down but that's it. I turned off the car and it the vette symbol would come on the screen then black again. The steering wheel controls still work but nothing on the info system except up and down screen. Went to lunch got back in car and now is working. Wth is wrong with the stupid thing? I hate all this stupid technology in the radio dept. What should I do take it in or will it be alright? Being an intermittent problem no way in hell the techs are going to find it.

What model year?

This has been a known issue with the 2014s.

Take it in regardless.

My does the same thing. I took it in yesterday and they started a case file. They will need it for a day or two or?? (if they need the screen which has been on backorder). They will disassemble the dash to test the power cord to see if that is at fault. If not a new screen is ordered.

I think it was a power cord fault and I believe most had to get new displays. If you do some searching you'll see several reports and the fixes.

Many folks waited until it happened a second time before taking it in. There isn't any safety issue involved unless you count loss of your nav as a safety thing.

That has happened exactly once on the wife's '14 Stingray also, and we now have nearly 20,000 miles in a little over a year.

Mine is having the same issue but my concern is the dealer taking the dash apart.

Mine is a Premier Edition (not that it has a different dash) and I don't want it coming back with the dash all out of place. Heard too many nightmare stories with these sorts of repairs.

I tried to trick it by putting the screen down, start the car and push the button "up". As the screen came back up the logo would show for about 1 inch up and then go blank.

I would put it in reverse with the screen down and the camera would show for the first inch and go blank.

Appears to be a cable connection issue...... We'll see in when I take it in on the 3rd.... (I'll be away for a week)

I had this occur occasionally in my 11 GS and my 15 Z06 and both cars would be fine after cutting the engine completely off and then restarting it. It only happened when both cars were still at relatively low mileage, ie under 10K and then it never happened again. Corvettes are crazy about electrical issues sometimes. Especially when your battery gets really old or dirty connections.

I also had an airbag warning light do the same on both my 11 and 15, only like 3 times.

I disconnected the negative cable to see if that might reset the black screen.... Nope!
