Help!! Valet shredded the bottom lip

Sounds like you want satisfaction....
Well...it's going to cost you, either in time, $, or leg work
First decide what the rubber, plastic/flex lip or splitter costs to replace
If it's <$100, consider getting it online and replacing yourself.
Claim forms will result in your rates going up (even it it's not your fault)
Letters, phone calls, emails will take time away from life, work, fun and just result in aggravation.
If you are seriously pissed and ready to lots work then you send a certified mail "red flag" letter.
Basically it's letting Hyatt know your going to embarrass them badly.
Issue is position yourself as you could care less about your rubber splitter; you are really much more concerned about
Safety of Public.
Highlight "your concerns" and potentional for future damage, liability, and guest safety. You will "share" your experience via online fora as a public service advisory (yelp, trip advisor, BBB, etc)
-Valet unsafe operation of vehicle; untrained, reckless
-Valet manager lack of oversight
-Hyatt Mgr lack of oversight
-Valet / Hyatt lack of proper risk management / loss control documentation process
-Hyatt Mgr lack of customer service; ensuring guest and property safety
cc:
state insurance commissioner
State lodging commission
Hyatt General Counsel
Parking Vendor Main office
state license regulator for vendor
Police Dept
Your file / counsel
Any one who gets a "red flag" legal letter knows it needs to be rectified ASAP or it's discoverable and massive liability when this punk runs over a toddler or a senior citizen is under bumper taking pics of damage / doing claims that manager should be on hands / knees doing.
All those state agencies have free "help/ complaint" online forms and they will assign an inspector or even lawyer to slam Hyatt for not following proper protocals or coverages. They will assign a case # and make sure they pay.
Just FYI - this will cost you in agita; but guranteed will result in fines, fired idiots and satiafsction.
Have done it dozens of times.

1.Get the email of the GM of the hotel. either send him this commentary or write a not saying how disappointed you are in the performance of his employees.
2. Write a few bad reviews on Ylp and other travel review sites.
3. Call the GM after 72 hours, because he probably won't call you.
4. Report the loss to your insureance company so you can get it fixed if they don't volunteer. The insurance Co will go after the hotel for the cost incurred.
5. Write a email to the main customer service group @ Hilton, if they don't reply in a constructive way write a cover note and forward the note and complaint to the office of the President of Hyatt. Google or their own site for contact details.
In a hurry take pictures and get it fixed at a Chev dealer and keep the invoice for either you insurance company or theirs.
6. Hope you got the name and contact info for the witnesses . . . If so drop them a note and thank them and let them no what you are doing. If not shame on you. . . .
I just helped my son in law to be (who is your age) go thru this same kind of thing . . . one it was escalated things went much better!
Good luck, let me know if I can help!

Wait, is this the air dam you're talking about? That's an expendable part.

I completely agree with you. The paint job costs me more than the actual item. However the reason why I'm angry is because they lied to me 3 times trying to cover it up and wasted 3 hours of my vacation.

Damage to your vehicle is always a possibility when you let someone else drive it. Sorry this happened to you and hope that you can get some satisfaction from either the valet service or the hotel. If you have an eyewitness statement from that couple, that may help your case.

Get a new splitter for $110 only don't paint this one. To me the real purpose of the splitter is sacrificial so you're not out the time and money fixing the front for minor impacts. It's gonna get trashed. Mine lasted 1300 miles before it got trashed. If you get a new one and paint that one as well, you're just pissing off the Corvette gods.

Every major corporation has a "Risk Management" department.
Write a letter, document your evidence of what happened. Enclose an estimate for the damages, including any paint or partst hat need to be replaced.
Most likely the hotel will send you a claim form that they will file with their respective insurance company. A decision will then be made to honor the cliam or reject the claim.
You have nothing to lose except some time to draft, send and document the damage. Enclose all of the photos that you took on scene.

Not a corvette story, but a valet story...
My brother used a valet once. They parked it on the street, got a parking ticket, which they threw away when he got the car back. He didn't find out about it until much later, when he had to renew the tags.

Help!! Valet shredded the bottom lip
Definitely go to the top. Find out the CEO of Hyatt and write a real letter and put it in the mail. I'm in the industry and that's what works for us. PM me if you want more details. Good luck

If you're talking about a $95 stage 1 z06 splitter then I'd just move on with life. I scrape the thing every day in my driveway, I pull the strands off every so often and carry on, can't see anything from a normal viewing angle.

I would have called the police, have them write up a police report along with the witness statements. Also the fact of the Valet and the Manager trying to cover up the damage.
