This is an interesting thread. I had noticed on my other vehicles the same permanent indentations on the armrests and decided to change my habit of resting my elbow there on the 'vette. I still catch myself doing it, but not long enough to make permanent dents.

Not to hijack you hijacking the OP's thread, but I believe the correct position in a Corvette is 12 & 1-7 as they should be driving a manual.

Default Dents in armrest gone

Hey just wanted to update on my recent post about the dents in armrest from elbows...well i was out of town last week and had scheduled an 4 wheel alignment before i left, because of a recent post of lowering stock screws all the way in with bad inner tire wear,i low and behold the dents were gone so with some time they seem to float back smooth .

was thinking how could this be possible. But that's because we drive M7

It's cool. My center armrest is showing some wear but don't mind it one bit.

Don't do that with every car but the C7 is most comforatble to drive and natural with two hands on the wheel. However from time to time use my right hand to shift!

My door arm rest is just fine, but I have the "elbow dimple" on the console arm rest.

Since I carry a micro fiber towel in the car for quick dusting and sun glass cleaning, I now just fold it in half and lay bit on top of the console lid and rest my arm on it when I'm driving.

No more sweaty arm and no more elbow dimple.

I tend to put more pressure on the center console pad. Surprised that nothing has shown up there.

I think I remember a thread about the trunk latch not closing properly. If my memory serves me correctly, Someone wanted to file a class action law suit about that issue. Maybe add on the elbow print in the arm rest, just to top it off.

Have you read the new DMV guidelines? Now it's 4 and 7. It's supposed to cut down on fatigue a d you don't cross your hands when turning, you shuffle. FYI

You need to read your manual, the door arm rest and center console arm rest are provided for you to rest your arms, not your elbows. Please discontinue using your elbows on these areas or your warranty will be voided.
