Default Sat in a 2015 with Competition Seats - Boy, I am glad I got GT Seats...

Hi,

I went to my Chevy Dealer yesterday to get the 500 mile oil change done on my 2015 Z51 and went up to the Corvette showroom and sat in a Stingray with Competition Seats. Those bolsters are tight (and I am not that big (5'9 180lb). My back hurt me for the short time I sat in it. I could definitely not take that for a long ride every day.

Glad I got the GT seats. A word to the wise, try it before you buy it...

I am 6'1" and weigh 183, no problems at all, even on long trips, I find them much more supportive, and very comfortable. I am glad I got the comp seats, guess that is why the Comp Seats are an option....Cheers

Love my comp sport seats. I've been on several long trips and it is easily the most comfortable car to travel in.

We are all different shapes and sizes and have different expectations for seating comfort. I have always said to try the competition seats before placing an order or you could be faced with a very expensive mistake.

I'm 265 lbs, 5;11', yes I'm overweight, sat in them for 15.5 hours straight on a trip to Indiana and again 15.5 hours back. I have a bad lower back and I felt more refreshed after that drive than I do after watching an hour of TV sitting on the couch. Love my Competition Seats

I have the GT seats and sat in some competition seats at a dealer and the seat bottoms felt identicle to me. The side bolsters on the seat backs obviously were more pronounced in the GT seats which I really liked. Plus I liked the looks the competition seats better. Just did not want to shell out $2000 for them.

I'm so glad I got my competition seats. Tried both and chose them. They also look great.

haven't sat in the comp seats, have the GT seats in our C7 and they are great, but have to admit, those competition seats look much better IMHO.

I'm 6'3" and 215lbs, and they fit, but a bit snug.
I wonder if anyone has had their competition seats stolen? Looks like just a few bolts to remove them.

This happened to me with my 2003 Honda S2000. The thieves cut the top and stole the seats Memorial Weekend 2004 in San Diego. The shop couldn't buy the seat as a whole- had to purchase each individual component from Honda and build it. Cost my insurance $11,500 ($8,500 for the seats and $3000 for the top) and took 2 months to get my car back. After that nightmare, there was no way I was going to pay extra for seats that might entice thieves. Especially since I ordered the convertible, not the coupe.

Default GT Seats vs Comp.

My wife and I drove our 2014 Z51 coupe , 7000 miles on the Corvette Caravan last Aug. Our GT seats could not have been more comfortable. Since then I have sat in two 2015 's with Comp. seats. The bottoms in both cars were hard as a rock. As we speak, I have a 2016 ZO6/ZO7 Coupe being built in one month. I am glad I still ordered GT Seats.

I'm your size bro but not so tall and the comp seats are good for me. Plus I love the shiny black seat backs, they match my paint!

It's funny how this thread started as a "Glad I got GT seats" and has quickly turned into "I'm glad I did not" thread.
