There is a specific aero panel and retainers for the Z06 grille as others have mentioned. You can purchase them at the link below.

I placed my order for the Z06 grille this morning. Thanks to this thread, I knew to order the aero plate and retainers for the Z06 grille. Thank you!

My Z06/07 came with aero plate installed but it was loose and the way it mounts was really cheap, did not like it at all.

Saw your post, fantastic idea. Works perfect.
Thanks

I get the law, but for me in all my life of driving ive never been pulled over for no front license plate. Never. Not sure if I'm just lucky or they just can't catch me. It's one or the other I suppose. Eh, watch. I'll get pulled over tomorrow. haha.

I am not so lucky, got pulled over in my Mustang by DPS south of Austin TX for not having a front plate.

In MA you will be pulled over and not only that, when it's time to get your yearly inspection, no plate on front = rejection sticker! Just got my new grill this morning and it was my wife who said "didn't you just put a new aero plate on the old grill? will it fit on the new grill?" Never even crossed my mind - she's on top of things!

Are you sure that you have the tag on the correct side of that "thing"? It appears the tag is on the inside of the bracket rather than on the outside...!?!?!

I have! I am in Texas and it was by DPS. In a 12 or 13 year old Ford Explorer. The tag and bracket was in my car at the time; it had gotten knock off, broken because it is plastic and I just needed to get it put back on. They didn't ticket me but strongly encouraged me to get it done.

I am not currently running one on my Z06/Z07 by choice but am aware that my days are numbered . . . !!!

Any chance you have pictures of this?

How many holes does the plate itself come with? If two, is that really enough strength using just zip ties to hold it long term?

Also if you do this, does the plate scratch the paint on the grill itself or move around?

The plate has four holes (Texas plates) so no additional drilling. Once all four corners are cinched up the plate feels very secure, far more secure than the aero plate.

I have the Z06 grill so take that into consideration but the plate fits flat against the grill and doesn't move very easily.

Thank you, did you have to bend it to fit it flush against the grill?
Edit: Sorry, realized you said flat. But that's weird, I thought the Z06 grill had a bit of an angle at the nose.

Default Latest choice for front plate on Z06?

Hi it's been quite a while since I had my '91 ZR1. I just returned to/from (?) the dark side (Vipers) and am looking for a %#^&ing front license plate holder for my 2015 Z06. Is Cultrag the place to go? My Gen 4 Viper had a rubber plate holder that fit easily into the grill (30 second install - no holes). Wondering if there is anything easier now than there was since the last post here. By the way I have a factory cfz carbon fiber ground effect package but if the plate goes on the grill I hope that won't matter. Thanks, Andy

I really like this easily, in a matter of seconds, installable and removable front license plate bracket. One can center it in the grille area or set it a bit high or low; mine, as you see it here, is set as low as one can.

Dude, you own stock or something?

Digging up 2 year old threads just to push the show-n-go?
