Launch Control

I can do better without launch control and as for the times in the video I think it is pretty self explanatory why their times were so far off.

I have done 2 tries in my car, no L/C. I got 4.5 and 4.6, I dogged it on one launch and ripped up some tires on the other. A little practice and 4 or under should be easy.

See now I thought launch control was supposed to be all computer operated and you just keep your foot mashed to the floor? Isn't that the entire purpose of it? Shouldn't have to be any practicing for it.
I tried launch control a couple of times last year, and I was getting around 5.0 seconds. I'm not sure if I was doing it right or not, because I got a decent amount of tire spin still. I might not have been releasing the clutch fast enough?

Helps if you can't hook but if you dead hook and you have a A8 then flashing would be best.

jeez... That's horrible. I got 4.0 flat with the launch control. my worse was 4.2 (we won't count the one where I missed 1-2 lol) It was the 1st time I tried it. I did 4 in a row
non z51 M7
car def would take off better if I could get better traction. I spin a decent amount with it.
there is a little method to taking your foot off the clutch. you just have to come off normal, but haste. no sidestepping, no full pull back right away. like you're coming off the light driving regularly, but with speed.
I don't know if I could better it unless I did alot of practicing and kept up with it.

you're not gonna hook and go even with launch control
that being said, these guys say 5000-5500 RPMs
mine goes to 4100 then goes back down to about 3600-3800
I wonder how it figures this out.

if I go to a drag strip, I'd be very curious what I got with the sticky pavement. I get alot of wheel spin (car slightly goes sideways) even with the 3600-3800 launch, so the sticky pavement will propel me pretty good.
it's only getting hotter here though, so maybe when it starts to cool down again.
makes me curious how it feels to do it in a Z06 lol
oh and I don't think I can do a better job unless I did alot of practicing. I've never been a good 0-60 guy. I either bog, or spin way too much (at least that was the case with my C5 Z06). The launch control is great for someone like me who doesn't have that perfect technique of launching a manual

without a doubt. considering I did it in the florida heat (85+) and literally first time trying it after the break in period (maybe 600 miles) I could easily get sub 4 second.

On launch control or any speed roll

you have to train your mind for it though. it's not something I'm used to, so it took bit of getting used to. It caused me to miss 1-2 once since my train of thought was different. I tried to shift VERY fast since my mind said I was going to redline, that caused me to miss the shift. it will hold it there for you. I actually wanna try it slowly shifting and see how long it holds the RPMs before it goes to rev limiter

yessss... I should add when I did my 0-60 I did no lift shift. It probably helps a little. it works in any mode as long as you are wide open throttle and near redline when you shift. the car holds the RPMs and sounds very different to something you'd normally hear. that's when you shift.

Why you would even try launching in this scenario is beyond me lol. That is like the worst possible situation for launching lol. Still a decent time surprisingly.
