Am I making a mistake? CTS-V for C7
Trading my 2011 CTS-V coupe, which has never had a wrench on it (except for the CIA I put on) and it's a great car. My C-7 is due any day now, and I'm hoping I'm not making a mistake by trading it in. Any V owners out there have a comment?

I can't comment on trading, but there is a C7 owner here who thought the seats were very uncomfortable and is going to trade his C7 for a CTS-V. Seats bother me a little too, but I have lower back issues so I suppose it's normal for me.

A little late to ask if you have already made the deal. Two completely different cars, hopefully you have had some seat time in a C7. If not could be an expensive error in judgement.

I traded my V coupe in on a 14 z51 manual and they are 2 different cars things I do not miss from the V are it's horrible gas mileage and I never could get 100% comfortable with the recaros in the V plus the heat soak was bad when it was hot besides that I miss my V wish I had both the vette is lower I feel the seats are more comfortable then recaros in the V the vette gets a lot of looks and attention good and bad even being out over a year now build quality on the vette is about the same but it's a sports car where as the V is a GT car so far thow I love my vette can't waite till it gets warmer and I can take the top off never liked just the tilt option on the moonroof of the V good luck with your new vette

I had a 2011 V manual and liked it a lot. Very comfortable yet very sporty. That being said, I still had my C6 when I had my V and decided I really needed at least one practical car in my house. The V, while seating 4 was still pretty impractical in the winter even with snow tires. I traded the V in 2013. I still miss it but if it were one or the other, I'd still go with the Corvette. Moved up to a C7 late last year and wouldn't trade it for anything.

Both are great cars, but you'll have to pry the keys from my dead cold hands to get me out of the Stingray! It's just that much better to me.

Agree with a previous poster re Recaro seats and gas mileage. That said, I do love my C7 (6th Corvette) I do miss my V coupe - a lot!

Keep the CTS-V and just add it to your collection of premium cars. Most likely you will be disappointed that you gave it up. They are two different automobiles. The C7 ride can't be duplicated like the CTS-V.
There is always room for another car somehow, somewhere.

I've never even ridden in a V so take this with a grain of salt.
I figure a V will be my "old man" car when I'm too decrepit to climb in and out of a Vette anymore. I'm 55, been driving a manual Vette daily for 15 years, and just bought a 2015. Go for it!

Coming from an M3 sedan (V8). All I miss is the back seat & rear doors, and being able to keep my briefcase/work gear behind me, instead of walking over to the other side to get it from the pass side.
I know my lap times will be faster in the stock Vette, than the modded M--so the inconvenience will vanish--at least on those weekends ;-)

I've done the same thing
Had a '10 V and really liked it a lot. Used it for road trips with the wife, but she could never get comfortable in the Recaro's. It was a great car, bought it new and it was like new when I sold it (only 20k miles after 4 years). But the new vette is unbelievably gorgeous, with great performance and the interior is very nice. I considered an F-type R Coupe, used Maserati Gran Turismo, and the vette. Just completed the purchase of a '15 Z51 from Kerbeck's today, and it will ship on Monday. I miss the V, but that's the fun of being gear heads - owning different cars that are fun and keep us young. I think I'll really enjoy the Z51, and I hope you do too!

V-Caddy 556HP supercharged V-8 with 6-spd manual transmission 0-60 3.9 seconds.
I have more than 600,000 miles in Vettes (12,000 on my C7) and I also drive a Ferrari - as I said in an earlier post: I miss my V- a LOT!
